Alex Kidd In Miracle World Extended Edition (W) V1.3 Final Full Playthrough With Commentary

Hey guys and girls,
I thought I would play through my entire ROM hack one more time with me talking about the events that leaded up to putting this ROM hack together.
This was played on my PAL SEGA Mega Drive model 1 with Mega EverDrive X7 flash cart.
It's an interesting intricate tale of a lustful love affair of lies, deceit, booze and drugs, nah just kidding! But there is an interesting backstory to this game and it all started with a content creator named ''Nostalgia Nerd''.
You'll just have to watch the whole thing to find out?
On the actual game, if you're thinking of giving it a go you need to know what the changes are from the original game:
1. You start with the default 3 lives
2. Inflation has hit Miracle World so shop items cost more and continues are automatic but will now cost you 1000 on account of there being a lot of money in the game and plenty of chances to collect it.
3. Colours have all been changed in every level except in three, (Radaxian Castle, Kingdom Of Nibana and Cragg Lake).
4. Music is completely different with plenty of groovy tunes to hear, Lemmings served as a big influence on me for this game, it's a mix of the standard Japanese beatboxing stuff vs the Matt Furniss C64 pulse wave stuff.
5. There are now 8 Janken matches to dance your way through instead of the usual 7, i've placed a third encounter from Gooseka in one of the levels unexpectedly just to piss people off.
6. Playing this with a Mega Drive controller will allow you to pause the game by using the start button.
7. Button layouts are swapped so the game's controls will behave just like the 1990 Master System II built in version.
V1.3 Final BUG FIXES: (Thanks to Josh Russell)
1. Accidental transparent walls are now removed and replaced by solid ones stopping the player from respawning after death in areas like getting trapped in a wall.
2. All overscan border palettes match their stage colour palettes.
3. Title screen has been cleaned up by Josh.
4. Checksum fixed by Josh.
My Edits:
1. Stage 1 Mt. Eternal just before diving into the ocean had a dangerous section that caused a respawn in one of the cliff ponds with no escape after touching a flying monster bird. This section has now been changed with the removal of the two ghost blocks and the flying monster bird so death shouldn't appear there so no chance of getting trapped in the pond. Even though there is a ladder there, I recommend not going for a swim in it. (07:11)
2. A last minute edit in Stage 10 ''The Janken's Castle'' I had a room with spikes on the floor to the left and to the right leaving the centre the only place to stand from falling from the ceiling. This proved to be a dangerous dick move as if the player hit either the left or the right floor spikes from a fall, a respawn after death from the ceiling would cause a loop of landing on the spikes until all your lives were lost all because the player hasn't enough time to move out of the way of the spikes from a fall. (59:21)
3. Lastly, the scrolling text in the ending credits gives Josh more credit for all of his work as deserved.
The Wife: (28:02) She was asking for me to bring the baby monitor upstairs but as you could see, I had my hands full so she had to come downstairs and get it herself. Despite sounding annoyed, she said she was not angry. I told her that her voice would be in the video and she's fine with that.

Amazing work with the game of my childhood! But I really think you should make a bigger, alternative version, with 2 MB or even 4MB (can't get enough of Alex Kidd lol). In a practical way, so few people are going to play it on the original SG 1000, that the 512kb limitation argument is a bit weak, in my opinion (altough I apreciate your concern...). Please, give us a 2 hours long Alexx Kidd in MW game with the best music tracks possible!!!

Once again mate, Excellent full gameplay you got here. I'm glad to see the commentary version you did here. Especially with the knowledge and what enthusiast you to making this hack. :) Once again, I am forever grateful and appreciate you for the crediting with my contributions to your ROM hack. :) I saw the one 8BitBoyUK did. love his colourful humour and jolly commentary on his gameplay on this. The other one who decided without hesitation to hack your ROM hack to change from 3 Lives to an insane 45? Like WOW. personally if this was my hack, I would've felt quite insulted by that and see it as a smack in the face cause he didn't ask first and done with without permission. I did see your comment about it. His response to it though. Yes I get it may look too long. But it's easy to go through. But his response to you sounded quite rude or a bit arrogant? I can't really say considering this is your hack and you have more rights to say how you will take it on that. But on SMSPower by M.Osorio was hard to work out what he was getting at at first until he posted his short video gameplay with what he is doing wrong. Glad there is no update since 2 days. Maybe he did took upon my advice and probably have no more issues now (fingers crossed) Well done once again Adrian. ^^

Mate if it wasn't for your contributions and renewed interest in it, it wouldn't have existed so thank you Josh for all of your work and for teaching me a few things. 8BitBoyUK's video was very funny lol! He kept referring to me in the beginning of his video as ''this guy'' very funny stuff, enjoyed it. REVO's response on the video was very blunt come to think of it but what can I do? He or she knows how to hack it and increase the life count and REVO says that they do that in every KiddEd hack? What I don't understand is if you're sick to death of Alex Kidd games, why play them? As long as nobody releases a further hack of it with the increased life count cause that WILL make me angry. Thanks for sorting out M.Osorio's issue Josh, I too didn't know what the hell was going on at first until I saw the video and read your response on SMSPower. Thanks.

@@Oysterblade84 Hey it's a learning curve for me too as I look deep into the software and what I find in it. :) He is a national treasure, I can see he is well liked from what I am seeing on the comments on his YT channel. LOL. I totally take that gracefully if he was referring to me as "That guy." quote unquote. LMAO :) Yep, blunt indeed to say the least. Who knows. Yeah your question is as good as mine as I have no idea why he is sick to death of the Alex Kidd games if he is screwing around to playing them? What happened to an old saying, If he doesn't like it. then don't play it? Yeah that's true. If he does, I would definitely report it to wherever he uploaded it too. But I doubt he would be silly to do that surely. That's totally fine mate. It was a good thing he did uploaded the video gameplay to give me the idea how he did it. Again I couldn't work out is to why he wasn't being transparent about it. Ah well now we know how he did it. I've added it to the description of the scheduled Extended Edition v1.3 gameplay I got scheduled so that people who want to play it know what not to do.
