GaN is certainly impressive for high speed switching, power conversion, motor controllers, etc. I am interested in using it for future designs where it may slightly decrease the Rdson and thus cooling required for given voltage and amperage ranges, vs say the current IRF150P221 FETs I am using to apply single pulses with large dead-time to coils in the 8-12 Khz range (if the pulse was repeated).
