I have been a trial attorney for 39 years in Massachusetts and while I think this judge is excellent, other aspects of this trial are driving me nuts such as the informality of the attorneys, the constant walking around while questioning witnesses, all of the leading questions during direct examination and the lack of objections by the other side.

@@Turamwdd They can be both embarrassed and annoyed by someone pointing out their messy investigation. I don't think you understand what I'm saying. They didn't do it on purpose. It's a cultural thing and they did it because of the psychology of being around a person of status and sociology of the area. On top of that, they have egos about their jobs. It's a pretty well known phenomenon about how people act around people with power. A Japanese plane full of people crashed because the pilots didn't want to question the more experienced senior captain on flight mistakes so they all died. All because of the culture of respecting your elders and not questioning a person in power. It is what it is. It was a very very messy investigation. It’s a lot of “passing the buck” (that’s not my job, I was doing what I was told to do, etc). It could be the higher ups were “in on it” and not directing the investigation to be as thorough as it should’ve been. If so, the “worker bees” that were actually doing the work would still be offended that their work is being called into question bc they were doing what they were supposed to be doing/directed to do. Late to stream. I was in court yesterday. The witnesses ready to testify sit in the back two rows on prosecution side. Eric Bland was one of them yesterday. I talked to him a bit. Very nice man. We’ll spoken and kind. He was not called yesterday because the judge wanted the jury back in. He could likely testify today.

You are so funny. Girl, I live in SC! This is normal crap! Neither side wants to do their job correctly.

Like a lot of people in live chat said, I bet a lot of the money is in the Bahamas somewhere for his son!

Seriously if this was rushed and aggressive judgement I’m more than happy to be suspected of anything.

Geez, this Hightower guy is going to make people have to use the Pythagorean Theorem when he could have just gotten a measuring tape and measured the distance in question. Bet there was a tape measure somewhere in the barn and it's not like it's hard to tell if a tape measure is messed up, nor would anyone think the cops would borrow their tape measure so as to somehow make it inaccurate.
