I literally love this Judge. He does not hold any punches. He held this murderer’s feet to the fire in such a fashion as I have never seen before. He humiliated him by letting him know that no one believes his disgusting lies. Thank you Judge 🙏

Notice how he doesn't have that little rockibgbof the head and body going as the 6 weeks went on. The absolute death stares he was giving Mr. Waters as he was being crossed was scary. Not sure why he would even appeal this since he is looking at 700 years for federal money theft and fraud. What a loser

Judge Newman is the same judge who presided over the Samantha Josephson case in Columbia. Here in South Carolina, we are truly blessed to have him serving our state. He is wise, but he is NOT weak. Here's a quote from Judge Newman from July 2021. " To those who asked for leniency, that's not in my DNA". That's the kind of justice we need in these crazy times. Good Job, Judge Newman!

The judge in this case might have been the judge for whom the term "solemn old judge" was coined. He certainly is solemn, and it is obvious that he takes no pleasure in the conviction and sentencing of a man who was once his colleague. And yet clearly he had to do his duty as two consecutive life sentences proves.

Thank you Judge Newman for your great wisdom in handling this case. I saw only the testimony of the Caregiver who told the truth while suffering pain for the family. The only other thing I saw was the 38 minutes of the sentencing and your talking about some history & the jurors as well as offering Alex opportunities to speak which again showed his utter lack of remorse. I shed tears of sorrow when he spoke. I am out of state & knew Nothing of Alex's past history. I have no knowledge of the motive. But the Caregiver's sincerity helped me see his verdict should be guilty because I also watched Alex's face as she was speaking.....I knew he was a liar. Alex absolutely deserves 2 consecutive life sentences. He can not possibly win an appeals case/....or multiple appeals. I feel sorry for his remaining son who has lost his entire family.

Such a sincere, thoughtful Judge, who really summed things up so well in his sentencing speech. Such a tragic case, for all involved, those who lost their lives, and those who were lied to. Also, Alex has to live with those last moments of his Wife and Sons life, and that will be by far the worst part. Justice has been served, but I hope Alex can admit to himself (if he hasn’t already) what he did, and seek forgiveness for it🙏🏼Rest in Peace to Maggie & Paul ❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼and also Mallory Beach❤️🙏🏼 and her family and friends🙏🏼

I love this judge, I know the simple fact that he killed his son has had a impact on this judge who lost his own son not too long before this trial. What he wouldn’t give too have his son back. No parent should ever have to bury their child ever. R.I.P too Judge Newman’s son. So sad and all because this man was so damn selfish and want to distract attention from himself so he kills his wife and son. I believe had it not been for that video and Bubba there wouldn’t of been justice in this case. Bubba catching that chicken placed Alec at the scene.

His twisted thinking and actions were made clear as day by his murdered son’s video just minutes prior to being murdered. Alex did not know his son had made a video capturing Alex just several minutes prior to the murders. Alex’s own words convicted him, his son Paul guaranteed Alex’s conviction. Tragic poetic justice.

I am probably the only one here who also has empathy for Alex Murdaugh because I am trying to understand why he became such a monster. What did he experience in his family of origin, how was he raised to become such a psychopath? I suspect the family had some (huge) psychological issues. Every person/child reacts differently to psychogenic influences. In Alex's case, they seem to have had only a negative, destructive effect. As a psychiatirc nurse I can only guess...

What's sad is AM continues to claim innocence to this day. The kennel video speaks volumes that he is guilty.

I honestly think they’re wimps for not wanting to speak regardless of whether money is involved or that they think he’s innocent(which he isn’t.). It’s as if he’s won in a way because they were too scared to confront Alex and tell him how what he did affected them. I hope that they realize this now.

Could the judge speak any slower
@williambranham6249
@williambranham6249 Жыл бұрын
Probably, but why should he. I know you were being sarcastic. Each person on earth has their own way of talking. Although everything he said is recorded for the record the judge was very considerate toward those in the courtroom. He wanted to be clear and to be understood.

@@cesarcueto1995 I see your point. There is some truth to what you say. I’m speaking from personal experience. I prefer to hear a question or explanation At a reasonable speed. If it is too quick then I will ask for a repeat. A repeat in this case is not possible. The case record is the important result. An interpretation or understanding of the record is another matter. Thanks for giving me your take on this. It was a fascinating trial.

When the verdict came back quickly, I was thinking of the Seinfeld finale where Jackie Chiles is in bed with Teri Hatcher and he's telling her they have plenty of time, the jury can be out for days..............then the phone rings.
