Well when you look at how the mind works (for most)......when you're use to things being a certain way and refuse to interject when wrong is wrong and right is right ( not to be confused with feeling or believing you're entitled........because if the word entitled did not exist ones mind and how they choose to discipline and educate it, still would guide and direct them accordingly)......you will always revert to what you have experienced/know you can and have gotten away with. As this is why the word delusional exist. In the same light that folk can use their mind to trick, deceive, lie and manipulate others. Life has the original blue print that leads to having your own choices, decision making and words, do the very same to you.......when you least expect it. I mean, I get it, alot of folk subscribe to what family is doing/saying for reasons that align with being accepted, fitting in etc. But a line is always drawn....and personally, I believe everyone gets that moment to either do the right thing or turn a blind eye. Once Time fast forwards, there's really no excuses, behavior or apology that can change or interrupt, what you chose. A reminder that not only leads to guilt, but sometimes to your own demise. He knows exactly why he felt that the law let him down. As what he knows and has experienced compliments of his father, grandfather and likely great grandfather, once upon a time secured the way that he thought and operated.

To expect Buster to be able to look at all the evidence objectively when he’s just lost everybody but his father, who’s on trial for the murders, is unrealistic in my opinion. Not to mention how incredibly manipulative his father has always been with him.

I feel deeply sorry for Buster up until the point I hear him _speak_ - and I realize he doesn’t care about his dead brother & mother at all he sticks up for his dad to the fullest & believes in his innocence! The IGNORANCE on the evidence is astonishing. It is absolutely desecrating to their memory! His big family *inheritance* from his dad is more important to him. In fact it’s ALL he cares about now All of that vague _lawyer talk_ in talking about his family’s murder is very disingenuous & evading. It dawns on me this guy doesn’t really have an honest bone & he’s quite cold on the situation as a whole Then talking of Smith’s murder hearing the blatant lies & can’t even acknowledge he knew or was friends w/ him. He acts like he’s his own lawyer in interviews so that he can stay detached & not have to answer anything honestly. It’s all wily and tactical speaking. He’s CUNNING however I’ll give him that! This man is a product of his father & rest of the corrupt, twisted family, and mentally wired just like Alex we can tell when he opens his mouth... while no lessons learned this whole entire time I liked the quiet Buster Murdaugh alot better, atleast it left you with a shred of hope that he has some humanity. Buster is not some innocent kid. He may not have known exactly how corrupt his dad was, but he knew to a certain degree. He was kicked out of law school for cheating and there are recorded calls where they both discuss him "donating to" the college (i.e. paying off) to get back in! Buster didn't sound surprised or shocked by this, he actively contributed to the conversation! He may not have done it (I haven't heard one way or the other), but the fact he didn't immediately reject the suggestion says all I need to know about his moral compass. The fact he had the audacity to claim in that interview he's not like his dad in the negative ways is laughable.

I feel for Buster. His entire life as he knew it ended that night too. His family is gone. His mom and brother are dead, his Dad is in jail for the rest of his life. His conversations with his Dad that we hear, are awkward at best. Who does he have now besides his girlfriend? I hope some of his relatives are helping fill these huge holes in his life. He's never gonna have the definitive answers he needs to make this bearable in his head. Always wondering did my Dad really do this? I wish the best for him, that he becomes a successful lawyer and moves forward positively. It wouldn't be difficult for him to struggle with this forever and go down a dark path.

“It doesn’t get to that level of fraud and (not) everyone else not knowing…” This statement is incorrect. Families of financial thieves absolutely can be kept completely in the dark by a mentally disturbed skilled liar. My ex was federally indicted after we divorced, and I was in utter shock and disbelief! I had to get all the information from other people. My kids were teens at the time and they were clueless. Even after he plead guilty, we were the last to know. I still have questions that will probably never be answered.

I’m in the minority here, and I by no means feel sorry for Alex, but I agree with Buster. I also feel like Buster knows more than he’ll admit. The murder trial (excluding the financial crimes) wasn’t fair in my opinion. The jury already had a guilty verdict before the trial even started. The whole country did. I expected way more physical evidence. Alex is a fraud, a liar, and a total scum bag, but it doesn’t mean he pulled the trigger on those guns. This case was all kinds of wacky.

I felt bad for him. He's lost his whole immediate family and he's barely more than a child himself. He has aunts and uncles who probably love him, but that's still a very heavy burden to bear.
