We fully embrace him as an American. Especially in the Capital of USA. Ovechkin is a hero to millions of US children as well as Russian. He has never denied his Russian heritage and they even sell his jersey spelled in his tradition Russian spelling and everyone respects it. Edit: They sell the Russian spelling in the literal capitals arena in Washington DC (I am from here)
