You seriously overestimate the quality of heavyweights. Derrick Lewis went to a title shot off of bonking people with sloppy hooks. Ngannou won the title with a big hand and a single stuffed takedown. Alex doesn't beat Jones or Blaydes if they ever get a hold of him. Volkov and Gane are worse kickboxers than other guys he has beaten while also being shit grapplers who won't shoot for takedowns very well.

I have this weird feeling too bro. I like Alex, but last week has been very weird. I am seeing a very exaggerated amounts of stories and videos praising him and even videos about his private life (unrelated to fights). I am kinda impressed with the latest amount of hype he is getting. Honestly, he deserves, but why not 2 months ou a year ago, but last 1 or 2 weeks? I am being bombarded in YT by videos and memes about him. I guess Dana is spending crazy amount of money in ads.

His grappling is getting better and better and while its never going to be enough for him to grapple, he doesn’t have to, as long as he improves his takedown defence he will beat anyone standing. UFC goes through various eras as the sport evolves and strikers with decent takedown defence are dominating pure grapplers right now. Every round starts on the feet, so you need a wrestler with actually finishing capabilities to make the takedowns count to judges eyes. You must be Anthony Smith’s burner account with the level of cope you are inducing.
