So good to see you back in comp mode Alex! Route climbing is such a brutal way to sharpen the mindset. After having such a hard time with that clip and still finish the climb, that requires so much will power and mental strength to hold on and keep going, so impressive! Looking forward to watching you climbing in comp, you'll definitely do great!!

Awww, thank you! I know, I thought I was a gonner! But I tried to relax my breathing and my mind once I made the clip. Looking forward to/nervous about the comp, but it will be fun! Thanks for watching!

For the editor: I don't mind an even longer video, the cuts during climbs seem a bit jarring and I want to see the full climb!

I boulder for about a year now and I have toproped before but it has been years ago. Yesterday I went toproping and although the individual moves were easy, I was so so so pumped on the harder routes each time near the end. This reminds me of that haha.

I warm up on 8s or 9’s. That’s impressive warming up on a 12- I subbed to your channel.
@roapcoaching917 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the sub and the watch!! I'd been Kilter boarding with a client in the morning, so was pretty warm. I rested for about an hour or so, so warmed up again on a 12b. If stone cold (after hangboarding etc), I'd prob jump on an 11d/12a.

Nice to see the rests and clipping positions in this! People normally edit it out which drives me mad.

Yeah, we edited a little, worried people would get bored, but the consensus was to keep all of the footage. Thanks for watching

🗽Power endurance... is different from bouldering. You always have to know exactely what to do and how to do efficient. Pink one very well done Alex! 👍 .
@roapcoaching917 Жыл бұрын
Yep, we have many aspects to energy systems: aerobic vs anaerobic, capacity vs power. Most people struggle with aerobic power (horrendously pumped) on sustained (but not overly hard) moves, compared to losing power and the ability to pull (anaerobic capacity).
