Fantastic! Best Electribe vid out there imo. You put a lot of time into this. How long did it take you to build all of the different patterns/ compose the whole performance?
@alexrafter7 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for the comment +Creaturefarm. Ah i'm not sure exactly as i made it a while ago. I tend to just make lots of different patterns and then start to put them all together so its not like i write it from beginning to end. I suppose i put together one or two patterns when i pick the Electribe up for a jam. I ditch the weak ones, and once i've got about 10 or so that i like (often with a couple of different variations of each), then i put them together. That bit sometimes takes a bit of time as i like to add bits to blend between each part. Hope that helps!

The iPad version currently lacks modulation options, and ability to easily record motion sequencing in the simple way you can with the Electribe. @alexrafter6 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for the feedback +Barsch - Banause! All sounds are from the Korg Electribe 2 only (the synth version not sampler), nothing extra added. The older model like mine was grey in colour, the newer version is Blue (that's the only difference though). Its a great place to start for making things away from the laptop just stick with it and don't get put off by its limitations. Enjoy!

Alex Rafter so did you only play the samples in a single unit pattern? do you know how record a long track and export it in the SD card?
@alexrafter7 жыл бұрын
This one is the synth rather than the sampler model. I tend to make a few variations of each pattern and transition between them. You can export patttern chains as audio i think but i've not used it myself. I record longer sets as audio like this one, through my audio interface.

Slow beginning....but takes off into outer space with techno frenzy. Very good demo. This video is pushing me over the edge toward the Electribe. I am also considering the Novation Circuit as a groove box. Had a Beat Thang, but it didn't work, so I returned it to Guitar Center and got a Roland JD-Xi as a groove box synth. Now I want more a pure rhythm/beat machine like this Electribe 2.

dope track man! couple of questions: what are the swings settings you're using on this track? and which one would you take if you have to choose. This one or the sampler?
@alexrafter8 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for the feedback. The set is made up of quite a few different patterns so the settings vary depending on which pattern i am using at the time. I use the groove templates quite a bit on different elements to add more variation to timing and velocity. As to which one, personally i'd go for the synth but that's probably just because i've used it more now. The sampler is definitely just as good in its own way.

I asked so many people this, and it seems like nobody has a simple answer, but how are you making the volume come right through the phone and out of the e2 itself, instead of recording a video like I do with the audio being recorded from a mini speaker with the phone's outside mic, at the same time, which sounds horrible, because I'm recording the volume live from the mini speaker coming out of the e2. I know how your doing the video, but how do make the volume like it's coming out of the system itself? How could I record a video just like your doing, and with the volume like yours, instead of recording it live with my phone recorder? Is there anyway to do this with an android phone alone or without a computer? I know there's got to be a way, I am just not tech savvy at all. No one ever taught me this kind of stuff. Any feedback I'd really appreciate? What is the cable coming from your headphone jack, and where is that routed too, and recording into? Thanks Alex.
@alexrafter5 жыл бұрын
The Truth Channel hey man. I don’t have an android phone so I can’t give advice on that. I used a laptop with an audio interface. But, you have lots of options. You could try a simple audio recording device like one of the Zoom models if you want to keep it simple.

How long did it take to set this up? Must be lots and lots of sets you saved there, since you change them periodically and transition into each other, before moving to the next set.
@alexrafter4 жыл бұрын
I tend to just pick up and play when I have a bit of free time so I don’t have a good sense of how long making the patterns took if I’m honest. Some come together pretty quickly, others might be sitting on there for a long time, and just messed with every now and then. Thanks for checking it out 😎

How do you save your jams and link your electribe to a DAW? ...
@alexrafter7 жыл бұрын
Hey man. I don't use a DAW for jams like this. I just record the stereo out into an audio application like Audacity. You can export the patterns though as 16 x wav files and them load them into your DAW.

Alex Rafter a cool thing is that you you can jam outside and use event record, and then record into DAW at home.

Hey man. Its just a pattern change. If you look a few seconds later you can see i use the pattern knob to switch to the next one in the set. I copied over parts to smooth out the transition. Think that's the part you mean anyway ;) Hope you enjoy your Electribe. Still rocking both of mine often.

Are they pre loaded sounds? Or do they come with the Korg elec?
@alexrafter7 жыл бұрын
The synth parts you hear are made from the VA waveforms. The Electribe comes with a load of different waveforms: saw, triangle, sine, etc and you can shape them with the different parameters like the filter and modulation. It also has a pretty decent range of one-shot drums. Some of the other sample vocals etc are a bit dodgy but i tend not to use them that much personally.

@alexrafter8 жыл бұрын
Hey dude. Have you formatted the memory card for use on the Electribe?
@MrSpectralwave8 жыл бұрын
Yes Alex ! First time I do this , and I read the user manual. After I formatted the card in Korg , I put this in my laptop , and I import in wav format maybe 50 sample . When I look to property of sd card , I use 200 mb from 8 giga , then I put it again in korg , after a few processed sample and save, message is"" memory full"" How to create o more space ??? . Respect ! A few tips I learn from you ,watching again and again at your post.
@alexrafter8 жыл бұрын
Its sounds like the message you are getting on the Electribe sampler is related to the Electribe's memory being full. It only has 24mb so it will get full very quickly. If you want to load more samples i recommend downloading the blank file from Korg's website then you can load up a bunch of your own sounds on the ESX2. Also, try you could try using a sample manager. I found it much easier than doing sample management just on the Electribe.
