By the end of his career, Arod had clearly changed as a person. He wanted to be better. I’ll never forget that 2015 swan song year he had. All the young players rallying around him. He became everything he always wanted to be to us.

I don't care what any of you haters say. Alex Rodriguez was hands down, the best baseball talent to ever play the game. People are butt hurt b/c he made millions of dollars. A-Rod has been my favorite player of all time. I remember watching him in Seattle when I was just 7 or 8. At 24, he is still my favorite. I appreciate everything he did for the game and I will miss watching him play. A-Rod, you're the man!

The best to ever play the game? What a joke. He's not even the best Yankee, Ranger, or Mariner. A-Rod had tons of natural talent, but completely disgraced himself and tarnished his legacy by juicing.

A-rod is a strong humble man it was humiliating for him to sit on that bench not being able to play yet he turned the other cheek and was wise while Girardi and the Yankee organization shamed him and humiliated him to the last point, he has to retire now wanting to achieve 700 homers but it was basically impossible with this team dont get me wrong i love the Yankees but what they did to Alex was unacceptable, but everyone saw what a strong and positive man he was, u CANNOT say that he isn't.

fact is every single team has had someone that used steroids, nobody is innocent. that being said A Rod was a PoS person in general, and he was a cheater. He was also one of the greatest players in the history of the game. Yes Roids help you play better, and recover from injuries faster. But you dont just take roids and then wake up the next day and blast over 600 hrs because of that. He still had talent and still had to put in effort and time to practise and become the player he was. The last 20 or so years have been plagued with Roid abuse and countless greats have taken roids such as Bonds, McGuire, Sosa, Palmero.

People said he faked those tears. Over 20+ years in the game... now he’s sad. That’s half his life playing baseball. Despite the controversy, Baseball is all he did. And even the controversy he can cry even thinking her effed up. He began at 18. Thats tough. People always saying he not even crying he’s laughing or smiling. Hello, people laugh to hide emotions. Defense Mechanism. It’s normal.

A-Rod was a big part of the '09 World Series winning Yankees. How quick people are to turn their back on players ands call them a bum/cheat. Due is one of the best of all time. Roids don't help with contact and back ting averages that's all skill.

I remember how much my grandpa was happy when the news was heard when he came to the Yankees . My 7 year old self didn't know much about him except he was "the one" for Yankees . I liked him and people do things that are considered cheating because I can understand from an athletes point of view that you want to be simply the best and having such expectations is pressuring . I'm glad he has a least 1 World Series ring and isn't a douchebag outside the field like most athletes are . Thank you

I'm enlisting in the military and I told my self when I get enough money I'm gonna go see him play before he retires now I'm screwed same thing with Jeter but this isn't about me Alex your the best baseball player of all time dude I'm definitely gonna watch your last game brother you had a long run if you gonna go out end it with a huge Bang a Home Run I know you at least have one still left in you.

Decent speech, but surprised and disappointed he didn't thank the Mariners for giving him his first opportunity in the Bigs as a rookie. If he somehow makes the HOF, then they gotta let Charlie Hustle, Bonds, and Canseco in as well.

Its a "Yankees Retirement" for a reason... he's remaining in the the Yankee Organization as a mentor.. no need for him to mention a different organization. That is like Kobe Bryant thanking the team that drafted him that he never even played for.
@freddyfro
@freddyfro 8 жыл бұрын
+JogaBonitoOfFifa WRONG! This is a retirement of his baseball career, not just his Yankees career. Did you forget he was drafted by and played for Seattle from 1994-2000, 4 of those years as an AL All Star? You make a comparison to Kobe, who was drafted by the Hornets, but never played for them. That comparison is so beyond dumb, it's not even worth a laugh. #GetYourFactsStraightBeforeYouComment
@JogaBonitoOfFifa
@JogaBonitoOfFifa 8 жыл бұрын
Yes.. I understand the fact that he played for them and was an All-Star. Clearly he did not feel it was necessary to mention them as he sees himself as a Pinstripe. Your need to put somebody down over the internet is not necessary because they made a questionable statement. Careful what you say over the internet, you don't know it could effect someone

when bonds was 41 he hit 0.270 with 26 jacks playing 130 games in the nl, not dh-ing. most of those games were in some of the least friendly hitters parks in mlb, including his home park. a-rod is only 40 and completely washed up. bonds drew 38 intentional walks at 41, a-rod 0 at 40.

Oh well, it was unfortunately inevitable.Yankees are still within the 2nd wild card game, they just couldn't afford Alex's consistent lack of hitting.His production this year didn't warrant a full time nor a part time DH role.He had a very good season last year against all expectations, but this year was just not right for Alex since the beginning.I hope Alex continues to serve baseball in the form of coaching.Regardless of PED accusations and suspension, Alex was a gifted and a very very goodball player, 2 MVP awards speak for his class.Thanks for the wonderful memories through 22 years and best of luck in the future Alex.
