Love your accent! xD I think what happened in the library though was that attempting the magic he discovered through texts, he released an evil that took over his shadow and thus in the end took over him when he was most vulnerable (drowning).

This video is amazing. I wasn't confused at all. It's all a metaphor; Sombra was battling himself, the side of his soul that craved the power. It was trying to take over and Sombra's good side lost the battle. Proves that all enemies have a backstory as to what made them evil in the first place. I loved it! Also, you have fine taste in music. The Instrumental inthe credits was wonderful

It's a metaphor. Sombra got corrupted with power and greed and hate. But there was still this part of him That "fought" against his evil side. The part where the good Sombra drowns means that his evil side slowly kills him and take ahold of his body and ,more importantly, of his mind. Untill it died. And knowing from the season 3 premiere, there was no regret, just pure evil. Unlike most villains with that backstory, his good side is really and un-bring-backable dead. His girlsfriend, the one with the scarf, watched maybe for months how he was broken. It wasn't maybe 10 minutes of a fight on a frozen lake. This video alone made me like Sombra really more as a villain.

he got killed by his own evil self because he used a forbidden spell ,because he wanted to be the king but turns out he used the wrong spell and summoned an evil being that takes hold of the mind of its host

Count Raven He actually has an official backstory. At least in the comics. If I remember correctly, his mother told him, when he was young, that he is a "Shadow Pony". And something about an army of Shadow Ponies, kept deep beneath the Crystal Empire. He used the crystal ponies to dig in the mines to increase an army of darkness or something like that.

i think it's about sombra becoming king sombra and while he's in the library looking for new spells, he comes across an interesting one that doesnt say what happens. When he tries is out it makes a demon that needs a body. Sombra is the only one aroud so he has to fight, he looses and the demon takes over his body and the empire. but thats just my take on the video. hope this helped

The creepiest part of it is that it actually fits into canon. The quest for power caused him to release an evil shadow of himself that he tried to defeat. He failed, drowned, and was possessed by the evil shadow. The rest has been said in the show. There is a lesson in this. The quest for power can only bring you and others suffering. This finally brings compassion to the character of Sombra.

From what I can pick up from the story in the video. Sombra had a good life, but he craved more. He goes to research for some sort of magic that can bring others to his will. This greed for power though inadvertently manifested the dark side of him which became a threat to him and others. He attempts to take on his dark self only to end up losing as his greed was too great. As the dark side takes over, he comes to realize what he lost in his rise to power which he took for granted.

My version of what is going on in the video: Sombra studied magic and came across the dark aspects of it. Because of his carelessness a shadow of his dark feelings was born and that was the other Sombra. When the two fought and the original fell, his shadow posessed his body, and created the evil King Sombra we know. That is my theory, and I would tell you more but there isn't enough room here. I have starter a fanfic inspired from that vid, if you are interested. PM me for more info.

He was just looking through magic books try to learn new magic (like twilight does) and he found out about dark magic so he thought he'd try it out and all his inner evil and greed and so on where manifested into a separate being which he tried to fight but ultimately lost and that's basically how "Sombra" took over the crystal empire (I hope this made sense)

I think he was looking for knowlage in the library. He came across a spell that promissed power and he then became obsessed with gaining power, probably thinking he was going to use it for something good. Taking the risks, he then cast the spell which backfired, thus amplifying his darker side into a full-blown split personality. He probably had it for at least a few days before noticing his changes and then couldn't take it anymore. He had a mental breakdown the ice which then breaks. The truma from drowning was enough to push his dark side to the surface. And thus began his rain of evil.

I don't think he was actually looking for power. I think he was more looking for a spell to help his people, as I see him probably as the Prince, and ended up finding the spell that would give him the ability to help his people; more specifically the mare he loves. But, like all good black magic, it doesn't look like black magic on the outside and only once the Prince uses the spell it releases his darkest desires. Those dark desires . . . that shadow . . . went about doing the things the Prince deep down wished he could do but never would. The Prince, in other to stop him, attempts to defeat his shadow but ultimately fails, with his dark desires taking control of him and turning him into King Sombra. And thus from hope and desire to save his people the Prince ultimately falls and becomes the tyrant ruler under control of his darkest desires. (I refuse to give the pony who was possessed by the "shadow" a name because I like to think he no longer exists, thus adding to the tragedy. King Sombra is the shadow, not the Prince.)

Key Ring That's kind of what I meant in my comment. But I guess I didn't quite word it the best. I didn't mean to make it sound like he became obsessed with power immediately. I meant it more as, the power of the book had an allure to it and slowly clouded his judgement. Kind of like the ring from "Lord Of The Rings", which is fitting, because Sombra is based on Sauron. (I thought his name *was* Sombra, but to each their own.).

What happened was Sombra got the urge for power and in his effort to get it out of him, he accidentally put the greed and desire for power into another copy of him.

I think that in the library when he got a taste of the black magic he had a shadow side,so when he unleashed the black magic with in him he let out his shadow.He had to defeat the shadow,so when he lost his shadow took control.

Azerdoe1 Smart Sombra from the show doesn't suck. And development didn't help Discord and Chrysalis become good villains, because their own stupidity did them in. What losers. Sombra is the most competent villain in the show.

I'd say pride, but stupidity works as well. Though in some fashion Discord and Tirek are the only ones who succeed in their goal. Sombra came a close second but he did more, excluding Tirek, to ensure his victory than anyone else.
