I spent years as an alcoholic, don't underestimate the drug just because it is legal, it is one of the worst. If you are fighting the battle, keep going, every victory counts no matter how small, and no matter how deep in or far gone you may feel there is always hope for recovery, you can do it.

It is without question the worst and most devastating drug of all time.

Amen brother , alcohol is as heavy as any heavy drug out there . Brought me to my knees , I was a drug user and didn't consider alcohol a big issue , I found out very quickly it's the same as heroin , gotta have it when ya wake and gotta have to sleep or your sick as dog 🐶. Grateful to finally be clean and sober , i struggled for way to long .

It's far and away the worst.....ubiquitous, accepted, and the MOST addictive substance given the totality.

Alcohol is such a demon…just because it’s legal is no exception…once you become dependent on that shit you are in for one hell of a bumpy road ahead. It is the worst feeling I could explain. Please never be afraid to ask for help!! Some things we aren’t meant to do alone. You are loved and it takes very little to form a huge support system! Your life is worth more than that…

I lived 46 years as an Irish hardcore session alcoholic. I gave it up. 7 months ago. I will never touch the stuff again. Drugs were easier to quit I found. Alcohol took me a very long time quit. It takes a lot of willpower brother. But I did it. So can you. Alex 💯👊🙏

Sounds like someone who never had to deal with real adversity in their entire life. Why don't you just be grateful for your own good fortune instead of preaching to others.

I just turned it off on 02/28/2019. I had a pint & 12 wings @ the local bar. It was surprisingly easy for me to stop. I made a decision & realized I do not need this in my life & that was that.

His neck injury happened when he was in Muskoka water skiing at the cottage the day of the Toronto show, we had to organise a flight for him from Gravenhurst airport to Toronto to get looked at ...at the show he was wearing a neck brace.

I was at that show in '95. Didn't he wear the brace for the majority of the tour?

That story has been retold so many times... When they toured Australia Al claimed he did that injury on the Gold Coast the day before their last show. That story changes everytime he tells it, never a true word spoken by Al just lies.

I’ll be damned… I never knew Alex was battling benzodiazepines and didn’t begin using them until 1995. One can die coming off of those. And being that it was the mid 90s, I would say it was most definitely Xanax he was taking, and not Valium I say this, as I remember being between my junior and senior years of high school at that time, and xanax being all the rage. I never liked them, myself. I’ve always been more a speed freak. While many took their xanax, I would take my mini thins 😂 that over the counter trucker speed in a bottle that feels like theirs fur growing up your back and you have to piss every few minutes
