Hold up so it was ok for Alex Cora to indirectly air out Verdugo at a press conference yet it rubs you the wrong way that Verdugo made his indirect comments? Dude, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Kind of tired of folks always being ok with 1 person doing something yet not the other way around. Alex Cora is a manager, if he really had his issues with Verdugo then take it up with him but the moment you indirectly make comments insulting the intelligence of people yet expecting to get through the season as if things would get better shows the quality of the person you truly are. Not saying Verdugo showing a lack of hustle or showing up to the ballpark late is excusable either. Verdugo was rightfully benched yet Alex is the 1 made the poor decision as the manager. Keep that in house let the public salivate for info but keep the team together by not airing each other out like a bunch of teen girls.
@engell3707
@engell3707 8 ай бұрын
Damn right! Definitely Cora was burning Verdugo and it sounded like he was blaming Verdugo not only for being late but more like blaming his tardy to the whole failing season of his team. It was pretty ridiculous. I’m 100% with you, Cora should keep the team together and not burn his players two months before trading him. and yes, people are always so parcial when it comes to judging others actions. So it’s ok for Cora to air out Verdugo but Verdugo cannot say he like Boone because he has his players backs? Lol that’s typical nowadays.
@kingjoules7591

Verdugo wants to win. It's hard to get things going knowing that you play for a last place team that isn't going anywhere. Cora shifting the blame for himself getting out managed to particular players is a bitch move. You have an issue with a guy you handle it privately, you don't go to the media.

I actually agree with you on this. Only thing that could be done is to try to keep it in house and talk to the player before the media or anyone else. Coaches and managers don’t keep guys accountable like they used to. Guys are afraid to lose their jobs and set a tone. People don’t want to be the one to set a standard and be considered a jerk. Accountability is what keeps people honest. It helps people let go of ego and surrender to a standard

First off, I have no actual respect for Cora because of his heavy involvement in the Astros scandal. That said, he is infinitely better than Boone as a manager. As a Yankee fan, I know that Boone basically never disciplines his players for anything. Gleyber Torres makes more mental mistakes in the field and has more times where he doesn't hustle than I can count, and he's never ever benched. By saying that Boone "has his players' backs", what Verdugo is actually saying is: "I like Boone because now I can put forth as much or little effort as I want, and he won't ever bench me for it." It's basically like a child who likes the parent that never disciplines him, because then he doesn't have to feel bad in those moments. That parent is actually just trying to be liked, not be an actual parent. That's what Boone is. Just wants to be liked, rather than be a leader who commands respect and sharpens his players - as a manager should.

They did mack a good Decision to traded Alex bc yeah This team needs a lot of talent Especially pitching But at the same time it's not bad to have an League average hitter on your team at least for a team like the red soxs its better to have a guy that will have a ops that is 695-700 then a guy with a 600 ops And I really do hope Tyler does better over there with you guys cause I feel like part of his problems in St. Louis were our manager. He's a Clubhouse cancer and he has a horrible attitude. Especially when doesn't get his way he acts like a child. Hope you do better over there Tyler. You probably will cause bc the cards don't know how to keep talent anymore
