I SLAMMED My MK6 TDI ( Coilover Install )

When I did coil overs for my mk 6 Jetta the stock suspension was a paint lol. A little trick so that you don’t need to pull the axle out of the knuckle is to unbolt the lower control arm from the knuckle. There should be two nuts down there and that should give you enough drop. Hopefully this can help you or anyone else doing coils on a mk 6 👍

Thank you for that, going to install solo weeks on my MK6 Jetta tomorrow... I was going to compressing the spring with a jack and then putting the spring compressor on while the coilover is in the car but if your way looks easier I'll do it

@@destroyall24 and your gonna need a 4ft breaker bar to get the axle nut off and it needs to be torqued to a crazy high NM

For cars with solid rear beams, jack the whole rear end of the car up and put it on stands. Put a jack under the beam to hold it up and let the lower bolt out of the strut on each side. Then let the beam down using the jack. The springs will come out easily. Your spring was still partially compressed when you pulled it out because the other side of the car was on the ground, and the solid beam can only twist so much. It’s a different method than you’d use for IRS.

Already done the whole shibang with lowering the mk6 TDI. Back was way quicker then the front and if you get any wheels wider then stock width you’re gonna poke and rub hardcore. Will need to camber. That’s a pain in the ass to do. Tuned, hood stack, and all that other junk

stupid question? why would you re-use the axle nut when its a one time use bolt?

To each their own . That bolt won’t stretch even if it had 250tq as the spec . So i feel extremely safe with re using a 150fptq bolt

Have you ever dealt with your mk6 epc light coming on? Its been three years with this thing and it keeps happening. It isn't on all the time. Sometimes my car has trouble starting, engine light blinks, and epc light lights up. Sometimes I can shut it off and turn it back on, and im good to go. Other times it takes awhile. Sometimes I'll be driving, feels like something slips, engine light blinks, I lose like 90% of my power, start putting alone, and then epc light comes up. I pull over, shut it down, and again. Sometimes ill turn it back on and its good, others it takes a few tries

Had the same problem on mine and after 3 years found Scotties Hobbies Jetta video and decided to do the same. I changed the ignition coil (took 10 minutes if that) and car was running normal again I also changed the spark plugs and wires but the ignition coil was the problem. Hope it works for you.
