@erictraylor1239 yes but that was (in my opinion) more of a massive mistake by Valentina than Alexa with the take down, grappling and taking the back, and submitting Valentina. I'm a big grasso fan. I hope she wins again. Valentina is a scary striker and grappler, you can see in the fight grasso was taken down many times.

Grasso clearly the better striker and proved it by outstriking Valentina on the feet; Grasso clearly the better clinch game, and proved it in the first round by outclassing Valentina the whole amount they were on the clinch (multiple strikes landed and got a takedown at the end of the 1st round); and Alexa proved she has the better ground game by EASILY SMOKING HER, MOUNTING HER, TAKING HER BACK, TAKING HER NECK, TAKING HER BELT AND HER P4P STATUS

@pokemonovice9758 I guess my question would be what about rounds 2 and 3? Because grasso needs to absolutely kick more, her boxing is better but to say overall striking is better is controversial. Valentina is a muay Thai specialist. I'm rooting for Alexa but I'm looking at the rematch objectively. I think grasso really surprised valentina in round two with those hands 😈 so much so that valentina had to change her game plan. I suspect valentina assumed she'd win a stand up match, which she learned she won't.

I would have agree'd with Valentina if she was actually piecing grasso up in the fight but she wasn't. Grasso showed she was a superior fighter, that statement is flawed.

i wouldn't say shes superior personally, more of a case of age catching up to valentina - her title legacy speaks for itself. No discredit to Alexa, i think she has a very good chance to win again here.

Based on what? Valentina has not had any major injuries or major surgeries, doesn't have wars in the gym cause she doesn't do hard striking sparring rounds at all, has never had a war in the cage, has never been knocked out, has never taken any damage in fights except against Alexa and it was just a little bit (almost insignificant in comparison to other fighters, Tony Ferguson took more damage in a single minute of the fight against Barboza than Valentina in her whole Muay Thai and MMA careers). Grasso proved to be better, whether you wanna accept it or not and wanna make some nonsense up like a casual fan who doesn't know about fighting. No one is beating Alexa any time soon, she's the most wellrounded fighter in the division; and in my opinion only Natalia Silva can beat her convincingly, she's also super wellrounded and a bad matchup for Grasso@@LeoCooperMMA

I saw them. What does those jabs have to do with the nonsensical statement of "Valentina was dominating"? This was a close fight, and nobody had done to Shevchenko what Grasso did: Nobody ever defended those clinch hand-battle to defend the clinch takedown, no one ever outscrambled back to their feet after being in the side-control position, and consequently Valentina was also gassed out for the first time in her career and her spinning kick gassed for the 1st time in her career@@deepthoughts1739

Honestly I think physically Valentina is starting to slow down some.Speed is the first to regress as a person ages. Shevchenko had a long combat sports career with boxing and Muay Thai careers.

If you think that was a fluke, you might be a casual or very well a very STP. person. Grasso will destroy her again, she clearly proved to be better and Valentina was overwhelmed and outclassed; and she and her fans will realize soon that she is not fighting stiff, untalented, and predictable opponents like Lauren Murphy and Cachoeira, girls that aren't wellrounded; oh, and strawweights coming up like Joanna and Andrade, who Valentina took down at will multiple times 😆

She didn’t even get dominated the first fight. She actually was beating Valentina at standup. Valentina had to use her wrestling n takedowns to stay on top of the score sheet. So don’t act like Alexa is going to be a easy fight for Valentina, because she is champion for a reason.
