Played STW shortly after its launch, probably a year before Battle Royale was released. I think the biggest problem it faced was the progression system. Scammers were rampant in the early zones, but literally nobody could make it past Canny Valley. Towards the end game, guns became obsolete, and you'd be forced to snake your tunnels of traps (couldn't play on any maps with exploding DB) on every level. Frostnite was also rediculously hard (managed to make it past 2 hours and 15 minutes.....few a lousy pin). The game felt dragged out at some points, and rushed at others. For the longest time (not sure if its still like this) the Homebase in Twine had lava that looked like an asset stolen from Roblox.

Im a founder and I recently started STW again. Getting so much v-bucks feels amazing, I also spend much money at the beginning of Fortnite, so its really nice Epic Games is generous towards the founders AND even the non founders. You still get tons of v-bucks as a non founder, so its definitely still worth it. Just not as much as founders get but worth.

I bought the first stw hero pack that was released (metal team leader) and am not a founder, I didn't get free vbucks on logging in, doing daily missions or storm shield defenses, only battlepas xp (when it was introduced to stw) and xray tickets

It's a shame that the creators of the game abandoned it. It's much more fun than Battle Royale. Today, the game is full of bugs and hackers that duplicate materials and weapons in an insane amount. The game receives an update of poor weapons once a year. What's the point of the cheats? Just a game so good that it was thrown in the trash, I hope Epic will get wise and renew it, it has a pretty big community compared to an old game

I dislike how out of the way trying to open it is. Before, you would launch the game and it would give the option between STW and BR, but now you have to open it via a BR gamemode.

STW desperately needs to go FTP. Theres simply not enough players for the game to function. Back in 2018, I remember every game having 4 players no trouble. I came back in 2024, and I can rarely find 1 person let alone get a full game. It makes the game near impossible to progress since these levels are designed for 4 players, the average player cant solo it. Sometimes I'll spend like an hour trying different missions, switching server regions, only to find one person, who quits during the mission because he knows we'll struggle with just two people. I know technically the game has a a sizable player base, but we're split between like 8 servers, and then again between hundreds of different missions on those servers. You can't find anyone. I'm just trying to finish Twine Peaks and it's hell taking 2 days just to finish 1 quest.

I loved Save the World mode, it was the only mode of Fortnite that I liked to play back in the day. Funny thing is that I never paid for save the world, I got it for free due to a glitch when it launched. I had gotten so far in save the world that I ended up getting the Founders Skins mentioned in this video with all the free v-bucks that I was earing from playing save the world. I stopped playing Fortnite back in 2019, just logged in today and I still have just under 6k in v-bucks and I found out that I can still earn free v-bucks every day! I might start playing regularly again!
