This song reminds me of a boy who overdosed. He was only sixteen, I was about 14 and my parents took me to his funeral since they knew the family, tho I had never actually met him. This is gonna sound dumb compared to all the human deaths in the comments, but I remembered my late dog during this. She was a german shepherd called Queen, and we got her with her husband, King. I was little at the time. She developed depression after some people took King away, so I made sure to comfort her by feeding her what she liked & playing with her often. I loved recording adventures of us in the backyard. Once, we were pretending to be either pirates or explorers. I then knelt down on one knee and asked her in my persona: "Do ya trust me, partner?" & she stopped panting, looked me in the eyes for a moment, and placed her paw on my knee. I didn't know how to feel, but a smile grew on my face. Weeks later, Queen was at an all-time low. She couldn't walk much and her eyes were dull. It was like she was the embodiment of depression. I gave her words of encouragement, tried feeding her but she was unresponsive. So I called my dad & he took her to the back of the house while I went inside thinking he'll cure her or something. She died back there. It took 2 days for me to realise it wasn't a prank. Even though I'm older, if I think about this for too long I'll feel like crying. She always had time for me when others didn't, and listened attentively to all my stupid rants, ha... I wish I told her I loved her that day. And I hope dogs go to heaven.

I'm bawling my eyes out rn.. I lost my beautiful doggo 2 months ago and he was my best friend and lil brother.. I miss him more than anything in the world and my heart is completely shattered... You never actually get over the loss and I know that there's a part in me that still can't except his death, he died on the ride to the animal hospital in my brothers' arms, they brought him on my birthday 12 years ago and they were the ones that took him away and led him to heaven... I get you and I know how painful it is, and when a family dog dies it's like loosing a human family member, so don't worry about it sounding weird cause it doesn't ❤️❤️

I relate to this so much. I’m one of those people who loves movie and books and I spend all my free time reading or watching movies. This made me cry because when characters die or the book ends or the movie ends our brains can’t tell the difference between a fictional character and a real person. So our first instinct is to grieve and I just miss all these characters and I know it sounds stupid but I cry at night knowing I will never meet them. It’s like this for some people and it can be devastating. I read a book series that had 10 books in it and I felt so attached to one of the characters and then it all ended. 10 years of reading that book series. I cried because I knew I would never see them and never meet them. These characters helped me cope with everything else that was going on in my life. I just wanted to say this so that people who feel the same way don’t feel alone.

I met my Dad for the first time last February, when I was 20 years old. We have a playlist of songs that we use to express how we feel now we are in each other's lives and how we felt before we found each other. My Dad sent me this song. He thought I'd like it for our playlist. I was crying after the first few lines. It took me straight back to the place that I was in before I contacted him. Feeling lost and scared and hopeless.
