"TOUCH THE HUMAN SOUL" Conversation with "The best student of the Moscow School of Music. Gnesins of 2016 ”by Alexander Malofeev and his teacher Elena Vladimirovna Berezkina. 1. Interview with Alexander Malofeev - Sasha, the solemn moment is approaching when you will be awarded the diploma "Best student of 2016" from the Moscow School of Music. Gnesins. How many years have you been studying at our school? - I came to school in the 8th grade together with my teacher - Elena Vladimirovna Berezkina. Two years have passed since then; now I'm in my first year of college. I am very glad that the school and the teaching staff considered me worthy of this title. - I talked with your teachers on musical and theoretical subjects - they say that you do not waste a second, study even on the road ... What are your favorite subjects? - I really love musical literature. It is hosted by Tatyana Anatolyevna Tamoshinskaya. It is great to know what place this or that work occupies in the history of music and the work of the author. Until this year, Solfeggio was taught by Nadezhda Grigorievna Zenkina, who raised me to a higher level, corresponding to studying at the Gnessin School. Since the first year I have been studying solfeggio and harmony with Tatyana Vladlenovna Fedchenko. - Do you study in a group? - Now individually because of the busy touring schedule. But, whenever possible, I try to attend group classes as well. - Do you have any favorite subjects from general education? - Literature; I really love to read. - What are your favorite books? - From the classics - "Uncle Vanya", "The Seagull" by Chekhov; from contemporary authors - Pelevin, Dovlatov. Also, my knowledge of the subject "World Artistic Culture" helps me. I've always been interested in art, but before that it happened haphazardly. Now, when I come to any city, I definitely go to the museum, I recognize the paintings that we studied with Elena Olegovna Gayskaya. - Do you have any favorite composers? - I really love the music of Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff, its scale and depth. Still, it is very difficult to single out one composer, one peak from a number of geniuses. - How do you build relationships with classmates? - School has become a special place for me, where I come to study and communicate with classmates. They received me very warmly. I am friends with Mitya Yudin, with Manya Sherling. Unfortunately, there is not much time for communication. - Did Elena Vladimirovna teach you before, before the Gnessin School? - Yes, she taught me from the age of five at the Children's Music School. N.P. Osipova, she is my only teacher. - What do you think about her pedagogical method? - Learning from her is not easy, she is very demanding, and in some issues even authoritarian. But our communication is not limited only to the instrument, we talk a lot about the connection of music with other arts, with history. For Elena Vladimirovna, the atmosphere in the classroom is very important, where everyone should help each other. - On February 13, you have a solo concert at the Moscow International House of Music. Please tell us about his program. - The program is very beautiful, varied, requiring special perception - M. Ravel, F. Chopin, S. Rachmaninov, L. Godovsky. The program was lined up for a long time, carefully. It should be borne in mind that a large range of works should not overload the listener. There must be works that require special concentration from both the listener and the performer, and those on which you can "breathe out". - I know that you just arrived today; please tell me where. - From Milan. There was a concert with Valery Abisalovich Gergiev at the Teatro alla Scala. I played Tchaikovsky's First Concerto. There was a very warm welcome and I really enjoyed communicating with the Milanese audience. - This is not the first time you performed the Tchaikovsky Concerto? - I played it many times - both with Vladimir Teodorovich Spivakov and with Valery Abisalovich Gergiev. When performing it, it is very important, without breaking the foundations, to find something new and interesting every time. - Have you performed with our orchestra "Gnessin Virtuosos"? - Yes, I played Bach's double concerto together with Boris Vadimovich Berezovsky at the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the school; Mikhail Sergeevich Khokhlov conducted the orchestra. I think we did it. - What are your future plans with Elena Vladimirovna? - Complete as many authors and works as possible. Now I want to play Schubert, Brahms, Beethoven, Messiaen, Britten, Hindemith. Much remains to be discovered. - You won the Tchaikovsky Youth Competition, are you going to an adult? - It is necessary to prepare for such an event as the Tchaikovsky Competition in advance, we'll see. I can only say that no competition cancels the tasks of the day that the performer sets for himself at every performance - to touch the human soul, to fully reveal the author's intention. - In addition to music lessons, do you have time for any hobbies? - Unfortunately, it practically does not exist. In my free time I can play football with my younger brother. - The last question - what do you think is the main thing in your character, and what would you like to remove, correct? What are you? - Now in me purposefulness and desire to develop prevail, but deep down I am very lazy. We have to fight this. 2. Interview with Elena Vladimirovna Berezkina - Elena Vladimirovna, please tell me: Sasha - what kind of student? - Since I have been leading Sasha since the age of five, I can say that Sasha was different in different periods. For a long time he was silent, and many people did not understand why I was investing so much in him, did not see the prospects that were obvious to me from the very beginning. Then there was a very difficult period when I needed a lot more hours to study with him, and his parents did not see him as a professional musician. He studied at a linguistic gymnasium, studied languages in an advanced program. Victory at the Tchaikovsky Youth Competition and admission to the M.V. The Gnesins became a turning point for Sasha. He finally got on a professional track. He had a hard time in the musical-theoretical disciplines, he had to catch up. We are very grateful to the director of the school, Mikhail Sergeevich Khokhlov, for the fact that an individual schedule of classes was drawn up for Sasha, taking into account the schedule of his performances. Sasha is a good person; if he were different, I would have parted with him long ago - we spend too many hours together. - What ideas do you have regarding Sasha's further development? - For a musician, the main thing is to find your own face. I like it when the pianist manifests himself in different directions. Sasha develops harmoniously - he succeeds in baroque, classic and romance. Everything is interesting to him. With such a heavy schedule (concerts and studies), like his, there is a danger of "burnout". To avoid this, not to lose interest in the process, there is only one way - each time to go to a new stage of development. Both in the material already covered, and in new works. The process of artistic development is possible when you know your craft at the level of a "microscope", as a scientist, you examine and study the objects of interest to you in more and more detail. Our task is to develop in students the potential for further self-improvement. - Is Sasha 15 years old now? - Yes, not so long ago. - It turns out that you have been studying with Sasha for 10 years? - Yeah ... Relationship with experience. But I think this is a common story for Gnesinka. - The time is approaching when you will have to part with Sasha. What do you think about it? - How a reasonable person and a professional should treat the inevitable, namely the fact that children grow up; students become concert musicians, teachers, colleagues - that's life. But for now, I still have a lot to teach him. - On February 13, Sasha's solo concert will take place at the Moscow International House of Music ... - Yes, there will be a new program. - In the year of graduation, there will be a Tchaikovsky competition, would you like to participate in it? - One should go to such a competition only if, in addition to the huge repertoire baggage, there is sufficient pianistic maturity, subtlety and even wisdom. Let's see. - Finally, please say a few words about your pedagogical plans and the upcoming events of your class. -18 March a concert of my class will take place in St. Petersburg; and on March 19, four of my students will play with the orchestra there - Anisa Dazhaeva will play a Bach concert, Fedya Orlov - Chopin's II concert, Yegor Oparin - Prokofiev's I concert, and Sasha Malofeev - Rachmaninov's II concert. - Thank you very much for the conversation. I wish you and your students success and implementation of your plans! Anna Zankova's interview www.gnesinka.com/ru/events/4881-dotronutsya-do-chelovecheskoj-dushi/?sphrase_id=4357

But the bond that brought them together, the years of patient training has turned this boy into a giant among pianists. Congratulations to you both. What a wonderful job you have done, Elena. Many have gone before and a few will come after, But this boy will be famous. You gave him the chance to be great and he snatched it. How proud you must be.

Très beau travail sur cette complicité qui uni Alexandre à son Professeur. Il travail beaucoup, il est intelligent, il est sensible et d’une musicalité exceptionnelle, son habitude et son visage sont d’une beauté incroyable et radieux.
