Scriabin is one of those rare composers whose early works and late works sound totally different, but are equally great.

Brilliant performance, with a few oddities I couldn't help but notice. -The octave runs (ascending) at 3:22 are suspended , then shot through suddenly. Is that part of the interpretation? If it was, I get the gist of it, but I personally don't think there were enough notes in the run to facilitate that, or that it was executed to the best of its ability. -The very last chord, when rolled, seems to conflict with the mood and character of the rest of the piece - highly romantic, but not cliche romantic, a newer romanticism. Rolling the chord almost trivializes the piece, makes it more into absolute music, or even salon music, to be extreme, by ending the piece not on the same story-telling tradition but the pure music for music tradition. While I do detest playing the chord and then the top note after, perhaps a much faster rolled chord (just as soft) would work well here too, as it would still fit the grace note rolls in the rest of the piece. Curse that ending on a 1st inversion! But everything else is sound and excellent. It's no perfect/definitive recording, but I like it more than the others out there (even Sudbin, who has better energy and dymanism) and I especially like that solid chord before the very end, before the (A B C# E F#) figures in the right, then left hand, which by the way are beautifully spaced out so as to let the horn-call romanticism of the figure ring.
