Its hilarious to remember as how our history text books sugar coated Shri Alexander the Great, Shri Nehru and Mr. Gandhi... Its important for us to understand how we are still part of Stockholm Syndrome and consider Shri Alexander and Britishers to have helped in developing India some or the other way. I wish we had such facts while growing up. But even though we have now, people are not aware of such history. As far as I know, he wasn't a devil. In fact, he did a great job by assassinating Brihadatta Maurya and taking over the empire because the empire had become so much unstable that foreign invasions were happening time to time. Greek king Menander was advancing towards Kalinga and had already taken over the Doab region with the support of the Buddhist monks (people in general). But thanks to King Sunga, he restored stability and prosperity back to Bharat and the mahajanpadas.
