It's unfortunate for Volk how he won the belt in the first place. Fighting Max who was loved by so many and beating him in a very close fight. Many thought Volk didn't deserve the win and they hated on him without knowing him. The dude gives every fight his all, he constantly improves himself, he is humble and carries himself like a proper champion should. He has proved himself a real animal in the octagon, never giving up and getting wins until now he is the p4p best. Well deserved I say and it's hard to not like the guy. Class act. IDK if it was Ariel that said Bo has the demeanor, attitude and approach to the sport of a true top athlete in a way that the sport has yet to see, sort of in the manner of a Brady of Lebron (or maybe Bo said it about himself to Ariel...or maybe it was another MMA personality discussing it with or about Bo...I genuinely don't recall)...but more and more Alex shows himself to be the progenitor of that sort of poise and approach to being a UFC champion and P4P #1 in this sport. GSP was similar ofc but he was almost too endearingly wide eyed, well meaning and almost naive. On top of that; the popular but niche sport that MMA was during GSP's era versus the mainstream, internationally beloved sport MMA is today, the Volk era, are two very different things. Championship today comes with so much more scrutiny, pressure and opportunity than it came with years back. So Alex maintaining this behavior and approach today is invariably more impressive than doing so a decade ago. He certainly is the first of his kind.

Volk is one of those fighters who could potentially beat fighters in higher weight classes. Hes so fast and covers so much ground that he’s hard for anyone to hit. Hes built like a pit bull. We generally assume smaller fighters can’t beat bigger ones but I would not be shocked if Volk could challenge Welterweights

@@blakehoule6698 eventually someone will hold a belt in 3 classes. Volk probably walks around at 185 lbs. I could see his speed and movement being a problem for welterweights. Pit bulls are able to beat bigger aggressive breeds in fights.
