I've been playing an Ongoing list that just keeps finding ways to win in Conquest. It has answers for a lot of the meta decks rn and it gives you the option of going tall and wide. Without further ado, I present Howong the Duck: Howard the Duck: First of all, Howard lovers rejoice! Team Cozy all the way! He synergies well with Iron Lad and provides a cheap target for Spectrum. With a Wong and Mystique high roll you can even get him up to a 1/10 which is nuts. Luke Cage: Pretty much just a High Evo tech but also nice to have with all the negative locations. Cheap Spectrum target. Zabu: With Darkhawk, Wong, Rockslide, and Iron Lad in the deck, no explanation necessary. Cheap Spectrum target. Mystique: Nice to play after Wong or Darkhawk. Strong if you play her after Iron Man. Super duper nuts if Iron Lad copies Iron Man on turn 3. Then you play Mystique Turn 4, Iron Man turn 5 and hit them all with Spectrum turn 6. Wave: She serves two purposes. Nice tech card against Bounce but also this deck is pretty expensive and sometimes you draw nothing but 4, 5, and 6 cost cards. Wave lets you cheat out Iron Man on turn 4 so that you can make up ground on turn 5. Darkhawk: Self explanatory. Another strong Iron Lad target. Wong: Wong is my baby. He's always been my favorite card in the game. In this deck he can get you out of jams with Doctor Doom alone. If you can get enough Ongoing cards down he's killer with Spectrum. Rock Slide: Self explanatory. Not the worst Iron Lad target. Iron Lad: The engine of the whole deck. He unlocks the overwhelming stats. Iron Man: Any way I can squeeze Iron Man into a deck, I'm doing it, baby. Doctor Doom: Perfect to get around Spider-Man and Storm. Spectrum: Also perfect for getting around Spider-Man and Professor X. A lot of times you can leave Zabu and Howard in one lane and have a sudden burst of power there at the end of the game. Overall, super strong deck that provides a lot of different ways to win and is fun to play. I'd say the biggest counter is probably Magneto because so many of the key pieces are 3 and 4 cost but if you learn how to fill out your lanes you can protect against him. Highly encourage you guys checking it out!

Yoke is the word for the thing that attaches horses or cattle to the front of a carriage or plow, hence animals that are “yoked” are incredibly strong and capable of pulling a large amount of weight, which I imagine is where the term came from. Could be wrong tho

I made it to infinite in May, June and July playing variations of a homebrew deck that utilizes zero series 4 or 5 cards and that I later found out you posted a video about back in April, so I thought you might appreciate this. The core cards in my take on the deck have been these since May: Zero Armor Invisible Woman Luke Cage Attuma Typhoid Mary Captain Marvel Then I fill it out with some sort of synergistic package consisting of five of the following cards: Ebony Maw Titania Lizard Zabu Killmonger Maximus Shang-Chi Enchantress Sauron

Nice to see Valkyrie getting some recognition 😊 I have her in almost all of my decks, she isn't a card I play every game but is wins a location against anything that isn't ongoing. Valk can kick the but of move, shuri, destroy, on reveal, discard,... The cherry on top of the cake is that Artgerm variant, the best in the game imo

Yoked is reference to an actual yoke, which links two components together and is typically very dense and resilient. It’s first usage was describing the muscle between traps and delts pulling it all together into one, like a yoke. The look is only achieved through physical output, so being yoked meant you had put in consistent physical work.

For the F2P destroy deck if you don’t have Knull I recommend Taskmaster if you have him. With the reduced cost of death you can get some really nice turn 6 plays that can dodge Shang Chi because it’s two lanes

My number one favorite surprise card is Orka, you’d be amazed how often I drop Mr Fantastic in the middle, Prof X or Spider-Man in one lane to win, and then drop Orka in my empty lane and put up 18 points out of nowhere. It seems as if no one is ever expecting him. It’s the best.

Sera Control has been and still continues to be my F2P workhorse, even without Hit Monkey. I replaced Sentinel with Invisible Woman to get a slight edge against bounce and some other decks by putting the appropriate counter cards underneath to force myself to strike at the right time without priority concerns. Hope to one day get hit monkey through a cache opening spree. I got Silver Surfer randomly through my Collector's Reserves recently, so I'm looking at trying out that archetype soon. Sadly, I'm missing some of the fun cards I see you playing with such as Juggernaut, Maximus, and Brood, so I might consider starting to work on that with my upcoming monthly free picks.

Spectrum definitely needs some ability or cost love because it doesn’t make sense she gives +2 at 6 cost compared to Surfer giving +2 at 3 cost.

Spectrum just needs a power buff to 8 power to match Odin. Changing her to a +3 power is too much because you have ongoing cards at 1/2 cost that would just be way too high value.

Just got into Marvel Snap. It’s really fun until I hit the higher ranks and everyone has insane cards. I’m trying to catch up but I don’t even have kitty pride. What I like about the game is that I don’t need all the best cards to get far. I hit rank 85 on just pool 3 cards and a couple series 4. Great video and thank you!

Worth mentioning that Super Skrull also doesn’t express the animations of its target cards like Wong or Armor. Often causing your opponent to whiff a Shun Chi or goblin to his lane.

If you really want to go into crazy loco land, giving Spectrum an Ongoing ability to go along with her On Reveal could be interesting. It would make the Mystique change fit more and it means you could chain it more effectively by doing things like Magik on 5 > Spectrum on 6 > Mystique and Absorbing Man on 7. Crazy, yes, but it's one lever they could pull.

The location control would be too much, but with that said, I have no idea why Kingpin doesn't just do what Fisk tower does. I do not think he would be broken if he could destroy any card that moved on his territory at any turn.

Clog needs some more cards for sure. I run against them all the time, and they rarely are able to disrupt me and put out more power at the end of the game. Maybe there needs to be an Armor equivalent that prevents cards from being bounced as well. Maybe make rocks unable to be destroyed.

6/2 spectrum with plus 3 could also be kinda cracked in a zabu negative style build as well. Darkhawk, ironman, mystique (when she copies) could all be very cheap and then you throw down a 2/6 spectrum that gives plus three to your cheap ongoings.

I actually got to Infinite this season with Discard. Went from 73 to 92 with Mr. Negative and then made the rest of the climb with a standard discard deck. I swapped Sunspot for Spider Ham and Hellcow for Iron Lad. I dont use storm

"Shang-Chi shouldn't be a surprise." Yeah...I took that mentality too far and turn 6 snapped someone who would have gotten blown out by Shang-Chi and they stayed in. The only reason they didn't lose 8 cubes of that Conquest match was the fact that...I was bluffing it. But that moment made me think of how often I don't snap because I feel like my opponent would just instantly leave, and I'd rather win more by slow playing the Shang that they might be willing to stay in for. It was such an obvious card after I dropped Sera on turn 5, that I just don't know how any smart player would just call down an 8-cuber in that situation instead of retreating for 2.

I use spectrum with wong and it buffs my other ongoing cards (antman, luke cage, cpt america, lizard, etc...) quite nicely. Probably not the optimal play but I'm still rather new to the game.

Thank you so much for defending Discard from the Spider-Ham menace! I hope Cozy is right that the new tools will boost it up (I'm saving ALL my spotlights for next month) but he's dead wrong that the deck is playable right now, at least on Conquest the prevalence of Ham which always hits Apoc, MODOK, or Drac makes it absolutely unplayable. In general I'm starting to find my biggest issue with this game is Second Dinner's incredibly casual attitude towards matchups that are decided before the game starts. It's okay on ladder so long as there's some variety because you can just retreat and snap on a better matchup later. But conquest exacerbates the issue so bad, variety in the mode is kneecapped by the fact that you need to win every matchup for 5 games straight. It's impossible to build any off-meta deck that can handle a Spider-Ham one game, then Cosmo, then Shang Chi, etc. They need to let you change out a single card in between individual conquest games so there's more to the mode than "don't queue into your bad matchups"

I am playing since 2 moths, CL 1500, bought recent 2 season pass. Never missed a daily mission, min maxing gold tokens and spotlight. I missing at least 2 (important) card from every deck you showed... Deck1:Mary, Red Skull Deck2: Sera, Kitty Mysterio, Sera Deck3: Patriot, Iron lad Deck4: Venom, Knull Deck5: Zabu, Quinjet Deck6:Silver surfer, Deck u mentioned: Hawk, Hight Evo I dont think I am doing anything wrong, maxing out conquest shop as well. Altho since the patch I am opened 1 new card from my last 10 CL chest... others was 4 title 2 variant, and credits? How long do you think a new player need to stick around to build even1 deck before quitting, when in every gold conquest getting shited on and you obviously see you cold have won if you would have that key piece. It would be great if we could hand pick at least 1 starter deck. 1 deck where I have everything and can grind my whole collection with, without feel like my skill wont matter when my deck just dont work to their fullest.

As a free to play player, surfer decks are not free to play friendly. Surfer is still in series 4 I believe. I still don't have him.

I’m not trying to start arguments or disapprove of this feature being bad because it certainly needs improvements. Actually let me start with the improvements they should make. They need to add more tokens to the normal caches again and the same goes for gold They should remove the random series 4 or 5 card from the spotlight cache (this prevents players from getting bad variants they don’t want from getting a card they already had) Now with the random series 4 or 5 card gone that saves 33.3% for everything else. They should keep the new card and instead of other cards they should add special variants for series 1 and 2 cards or even series 3 cards. This would be better because that would mean that most players already have these cards and get get special variants from them. Unless you guys are fine with other free cards being in there Spotlight caches can introduce the new card (33.3%), 500 gold (33.3%), or 1000 tokens (33.3%) if you guys think that would be better Please give me feedback Now onto what else I have to say. Although I understand that must don’t like this update it shouldn’t be enough to make people want to leave. Remember, we just got an amazing conquest mode in the update prior to this one and they made changes to that because they listen to community feedback. I believe that they will change this feature because like I said they listen to the community. Compared to many other games marvel snap is one of the only games ik where the devs actually care about us. I love this game and I want the best for it but it shouldn’t be enough to make me want to quit the game. That’s just me tho. Please guys help me understand your thoughts instead of arguing

Hot take, Iron Man isn't just a top surprise card, I think he is a Top 10 card in the game. With Bast alone it skyrockets him or with Mr Negative if you get his Negative version it is a guaranteed win. I have been winning a lot lately with Mr Negative and Iron man is the main reason.

Bout to carve on some Opal while I watch the rest, but I just wanted to get in a comment. The worst part about the Spotlight Cache is that most players will only get 1 of the spotlight caches a cycle. Hence new players get rewarded and existing players get punished cuz they can't expect not to get the new card or the one they want first. Like how you got Jean Grey second Cozy and I got Knull first which I already had. So now I won't get the other two since no way am I grinding out the next one or paying money for this crap system. I have bought every season so far though, paying players like us deserve more!!! They should guarantee the first card be the new card for players who own both of the others. Rewarding dedication......then they take away affordable token Tuesday / dropped token rewards to 50 a pop....etc etc etc. Further screwing your average player. Spotlight caches again punish existing dedicated players like us and reward new players whom haven't put in the work we have!!!! Speaking as a Infinite 7k CL player myself thanks to you and Snapster.....

Sera is an overrated play in Surfer. You give up the entire turn 5 from playing another 3 drop to play one extra on turn 6 for zero net gain but 4 power that can’t be boosted by Surfer. Instead you could play a 3 drop from the toolkit with another 2 drop which there’s plenty that fit in great.

With all the types of archetypes you guys have been talking about, I'm surprised that you never talk about drain decks built around Hazmat. I'd be curious about the win rate, but it's very effective when it works (with Wong and Luke Cage, maybe Odin or Absorbing Man) and its very satisfying to watch your opponent's power drain out of their side of the board.
