Mole grips and a Chinese adjustable spanner, what’s the point in nice anodised fittings if you’re just gonna chew them up?
@AlphaFlight4 жыл бұрын
i learned the time installing some nice AN fittings, that the fittings dont stay nice for long, they scratch up as soon as you handle them to install,

I don't track my car but my car having known problem that the oil cooler hose bursting out of the blue (manufacturers defect) and was never fixed by thhe company only viable solution is to remove the stock water cooled oca and replace with something else, my only concern I'm not sure if the engine still have the same oil pressure after the installation

Why did you use rubber hoses instead of PTFE? Rubber lines are for fuel or power steering, maximum 100°C only

@troywiltshire52725 жыл бұрын
Can this be used for a remote filter locator? Since it’s such a pain to get to the stock filter location just to change the filter.

Stay tuned, I have a video coming out about that. Short answer, yes but with a big asterisk. Check out @RPMPowered on Instagram. They've got an amazing kit.

when you fill with oil during first install or oil change, the oil thermostat would be closed right? How will the oil go to the cooler? Is there a way to open it? Or you fill more oil and when the system operates everything will fill?
@josevega76805 жыл бұрын
Most oil thermostats do not ever fully close one way or the other. In other words, oil is ALWAYS flowing through the cooler. The thermostat just regulates how much is flowing through it. Also, he should've mounted the cooler with the fittings on top to avoid air pockets.

My car is not a dedicated track car and will be staying non-turbo but it will be seeing open track days and autocrosses a lot. Would you still recommend? If I do plan to go with this route, I'll be installing it in front of my a/c condensor (Yes I'm keeping ac deal with it) along with the radiator right behind of course. Sounds ideal or no? Sure my car is not being boosted, but having a peace of mind out on the track in regards to oil pressure would give me a piece of mind?

Can your oil cooler get slightly wet from rain? Mine was smoking after I drove my Silvia in the rain
@outlawedmotors5 жыл бұрын
It's fine for it to get wet. May be just steam? It'd be good to check for leaks.

Hello I installed a 7 row G-Plus oil cooler on a JCW R56. I’m very happy with it. One thing it does is I can hear the oil pump whining at idle. The car throws no DTC codes. Any idea what is causing this? Thanks

That factory cooler was NOT enough,especially commuter driving,engines get hotter while in stop and go city traffic,if it was highway,high speed driving,that's different because the oil moves faster thru the system,thus preventing over heating of coolant,engine oil and transmission fluid.
@kitty13kitty6 жыл бұрын
Will that heat exchange block squeeze back between the rad/support/bumper assembly and allow you to put the car into front end service mode without disconnecting / draining the oil lines?
@outlawedmotors6 жыл бұрын
DH Johnson if you give it enough slack absolutely. You don’t loose much oil when you unhook the oil lines at the thermostat so it’s nothing to be too worried about. That being said, I typically find it easier to pull the front off when ever I need to get in there, but that may be because I’m used to doing it 100 times by now lol

@outlawedmotors5 жыл бұрын
You don't need to prime your oil cooler, however, you do need to top up your oil once your the thermostat has opened up allowing oil to flow into the cooler to bring the oil back up to the appropriate level.
