Judy is a queen. I wish they would post more construction/atelier vids. Primarily to give us a look at those mad MQ skills, but also so everyone can see and appreciate the labour that goes into all handmade garments; they might understand their value and think twice about buying disposable garbage. Wishful thinking, I know.

P Wallace OP wasn’t snooty in any way. She means fast fashion, plastic (polyester) clothes. It really is all disposable garbage that’s wrecking our planet. The textile trade is one of the top contributors to pollution worldwide. We all need to stop buying fast fashion immediately; it’s not a class thing, it’s a save the planet thing.

As a fashion design student I find this so beautifully encouraging in it's sheer simplicity. You don't need hypey gimmicks, expensive hardware or flashy fabrics to make something so beautifully astonishing. She just took the material and sculped away, she let the fabric speak for the garment in it's different characteristics and to me, that is where the work of true masters like her really shines.

Non fashion people do not know just how much of what you see in the shows is due as much ( if not more ) to the talent of people like Judy than the designers themselves. I did this job for years and always had appreciative designers, working in couture, creating, pinning and making the impossible possible ,, I miss the challenge. It was Nothing to make dresses with 60 metres of silk ,,

I love how detailed the steps are in this video. I’m only 5 years into the craft and obviously have no where near these artists skill but it’s so inspiring to me that all these little steps that are pretty easy to learn but difficult to accomplish perfectly can go into creating something so intricate. It gives me hope that with enough continued practice, I could create something half as beautiful someday. Those skirt roses though... phew! Thats all trained eye and years of skill... just purely masterful.

I'm sure it must have been easy to get lost in all that fabric while trying to construct the garment with no flaws and a perfect symmetry. I'm advanced in sewing skills and I probably would've failed in the making of such a dress. You Ma'am have my respect !

genius even to the very color . a red like that i find it difficult to express my fullest appreciation for it to be able to gaze at the luxury form of it. there are so many options to pair shoe styles, jewelry, other accessories, make up designs of all kinds or just go natural in it that ruby gem of a dress with and what hair style and hair color to go with it as well. I just bet you black and white would be killer of a beaut for that dress style as well.
