My mom loved this movie. Every year when it came on TV it was manadoty watching. I loved her repeating the lines and laughing. I wastch from time to time to think of them great grand days for of laughter with the family. Beats dying alone in a trailer after all these years.

You didn't research Cleopatra's real life History. Cleopatra was a Ptolemy. A Greek. Either research history before reviewing historically based movies, or don't even bother. Historic education has enough to deal with without some armature movie reviewers mucking things up.

The film was conceived as two three hour epics coming out a few months apart. But it went so far over budget and the scandalous affair with Taylor and Burton made it so that to make any money back they needed Taylor and Burton on screen together, which is what audiences would come to see. So, unfortunately the movie was cut into one four hour movie and tons of footage was removed.

As someone who adores the old 60s epics like Lawrence of Arabia and Ben-Hur, I'm extremely excited to see Cleopatra. But I have one question. Would you say you get your money's worth out of the battle scenes? I kind of get the feeling that Cleopatra is a four hour pure romance. Is that the case or is there enough action and spectacle to keep this interesting?

Not much action. More of political drama with some romance
