Python has a ARM64 installer BTW, you need to select a different option for it but it has one, the default is X64

But he chose to make it more complicated for his viewers. A lot of widely used programming tools and software development tools have ARM64 support - .NET/ C#, Java, Go, Kotlin, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Jetbrain tools, Rust tools etc

This is literally the only use case i was worried about with these ARM windows machines. I work as a mobile developer among other things and I am from Argentina, so buying a laptop is a month salary at least. You saved me! If you can share your experience developing android apps now that you know it's possible would be great.

You should look into the newest gen of intel laptops that are going to come out soon. They use traditional x64 architecture and claim to have a very good battery life, even better than the current m3. Hopefully intel hasn’t lied we know they have jn the last.
@devathinnithin1371Ай бұрын
@@vtxshadow they draw less power but still we don't know how they perform in real life as most of the reviewers runsome tests for scores, I think it cannot handle android development as good macbook(without charger). I am using a intel 12th gen 1240p I want to learn android but IntelliJ sucks with basic java program we cannot trust until some good test results(I am windows fan boy)

I don't recommend it. Backend work is possible, but there is a difficulty in developing the design. Preview rendering is intermittently possible in the x64 android studio. and too bad performance in x64 emulating

Given that I have wasted many hours / days setting up different environments for different tasks only to realise it will / will NOT work, someone doing it for you and sharing is a great care ! Love you maan !!! Good developers form really good community. They just cut the crap and come to the point. They just dont have enough time from debugging their code. They just know habitually how valuable it is to stay minimal, whether its about writing a code or making a video ... (And of course no fake reviews. They just know they will be caught by others in the community...

This should be a no-brainer. I don't understand why you can't have a process running the Android system on these machines. No virtualization, just a container. After all, the processor is very similar to the CPU of most Android phones.
@le_bouvierАй бұрын
So given the hoops involved it seems to me that we are further establishing that for developers to cover all platforms all you need is an M-Seeries MacBook + any x86 device that can be used to compile x86 code. It seems like no one is doing Qualcomm any favors. Window ARM is still mostly junk and 2 Month's in Google still isn't supporting them properly. I really hope this changes, because we need better competition.
@TamasKiss-yk4stАй бұрын
Until the Windows ARM market share is low, developers won't work for it.. just remember all the works they did for Windows Phone (that one also died because of low app support.. the first social network apps required 3 years to build.. but that time the platform was deserted, everyone keaved and bought a phone where he can download apps from the store..)

@@meowlicious8897 I ran arch linux arm on my qualcomm asus vivobook, there is still a lot missing though, no usb a, multi function usb c is kinda eh right now, audio is not all there. Also installing it requires some knowledge about setting up the bootloader with a devicetree. Cool and doable if you are familiar with embedded linux, if you are a basic user that requires a graphical installer that does everything for you, its not there yet. Though there is movement from certain distros, but there is just a lot more kernel work that needs to be done.

With the new AMD out and Lunar Lake coming next week, there are certainly some great choices coming soon.
