Alexandra Dovgan, what you have achieved in your 11 years of life is so much more than many people can achieve in a life time, you are a unique talent and prodigy, a genius I should say, you play with the wisdom of an adult and the playfulness and energy of a young child, the technique is superb, absolute, and your musicality that of an old soul, I am in awe of what I just saw, and congratulate you from the bottom of my heart for your talent and hard work, you, your parents and your teachers. Easy? Sort of. The main parts are learned, the fast 16th note 4 piece runs are same method for all 4 notes, just sharps/flats and accidental changes, if you have a 4 piece line with changes then you study that exact line more than the rest. It all works out in the end!
@clyderamirez14 ай бұрын
Not as hard as you would think. When you practice a piece for many hundreds of hours looking at sheet music and reinforcing the phrases and rhythms of each movement it becomes second nature. We did Beethovens first symphony in high school which is significantly longer. By concert day after practicing daily going movement by movement we had it committed to memory. I can't speak as to the methods of a virtuoso but I can imagine they can't be much different.

From the moment she starts cleaning the keyboard of her piano (00:05) until they leave the stage together (19:54) there's a charming chemistry between Alexandra and the conductor Alexander Sladkovsky. You can see by the smile on his face after Alexandra spontaneously offers mister Sladkovsky a bouquet of flowers, how happy he is for her. What a heartwarming performance. Every time I watch this video, it gets warm around my soul.

Indeed, and just imagine, despite having rehearsed with her, hearing this power, nuance, and elegance pouring out behind you - must have been mind boggling .. Very telling is the opening crescendo - it is relentless building in strength - more so than, I think, other orchestras Alexandra has played it with, and she matches it with amazing power and authority. It conveys immediately that there will be no soft peddling by either party, but a balanced account.

I know nothing, really nothing about music, but I am touched by the beauty of this music. I also saw what you mentioned. The main voice of the piano just takes the stage when it makes an entry and the clearness of Alexandras playing is quite nearly superhuman. A true prodigy because she feels the musique. She plays with her heart not her head.

@@PeterBrodie i agree, she needs to keep her mind very focused, but needs her feelings for such a beautiful phrasing and musicality. That’s a extremely difficult balance to maintain, but seems natural in her at such a young age.

All can only play the notes perfectly, but not all can feel and that’s what she has.

Both. Such technique needs a lot of head work. And the technique has to be strong, secure and well-rounded in order to carry the complexity and lavishness of emotion, and get it off the ground. You can have all the heart you want, but without sufficient means of expression the emotion just wont have any wings to fly with.

The most beautiful young girl. Her ability a miracle brought about by herself, her beautiful parents that taught her to love music, and her trainers. The symphony also would go to painstaking efforts to provide a perfect compliment for her playing. This video a dream come true.

Sasha was only 11 years and 1 month old in this performance! The greatest prodigy of this generation, and destined to be one of the greatest artists, period!

I was wondering how old she is/was. She seemed super young and I was thinking, to not only be able to play like that, but to be able to memorize a 20 minute piece and have the stamina to play so vigorously, has got to take it out of you. She handled it like a champ.

Actually she was 10 years and 9 months, but never mind (The performance was recorded in April 2018, and she was born in July 2007)

The sheer concentration, accuracy, and energy that goes into her performance is astounding. This is a very complex composition and it's amazing what she's had to memorize and practice. Beautifully played and I hope she matures into writing her own pieces. (While still playing the amazing classics!)

wonderful, what a talent! A born pianist who also loves to play and a lovely, elegant child. Beautiful choice of dress for her, reflects the romantic era and blends beautifully with the concert hall. Beautiful Mendelssohn concert! She made me see its beauty and love it!! It is like a blend of the great composers of the romantic era. her virtuosity is breathtaking, especially in the last part. And there are such moving, affectionate moments especially at the end, the proud parents, her mother hugging her with so much Love. Thank you so much for posting ! What a treat!!!
