I LOVE that I can see your natural, human skin texture. Honestly, I think it's so gross that it's literally the NORM and you are the exception that... you look human and I can see your pores. I think it's outrageous and flat out deceptive that nearly ALL beauty KZbinrs use these blurring filters that remove all skin detail, and then they have the audacity to review skin makeup as if we should listen to their opinion, even though in every foundation review, ranging from "awful" to "holy grail", they look identical. Even with Tati who I think is so sweet, she will review a foundation and say "Oh my god, you guys. This foundation is awful, I can't wait to get this off my face.", and I'm just thinking "Huh?... I can't see a single pore on your face. You're literally so blurry to where your skin still looks perfect with so-called "terrible" foundation.". Rant over. It just bugs me! And I'm happy you don't do that.

Louis Vuitton Lady I always talk about how to hold the brush in every tutorial the reason is because if you hold the brush down and angle it up your pushing the color upwards if you want it concentrated into the socket and only there then it helps to hold the brush straightahead or at a slight angle upwards that way the bristles on the side of the brush do the blending for you- and for me with mature crepe wrinkly old skin and hooded eyes placement matters so I always always always mention that!

Thank you I thought that was one of the best eyeshadow demos I have seen. You didn't werewolf sightings of brush number 22, then go about doing your makeup. You took your time and you explained every brush that you used, the company name the reason you pick that particular brush, its density, and what it was made of. that would each brush you describe the effect that it was going to give on the eye and how to use it on the eye. you also gave other choices and brushes depending upon the size of your eye real estate, or the overall look you were going for. I particularly like the fact that you discussed what to do if you made a mistake, and how so basically not make those mistakes by applying the makeup and the way you were demonstrating. What I found interesting was most people do their whole in first, summit don't even use a primer. Then they go about why more and more eyeshadow to their eyes. By the time they're done you don't even see the original eyeshadow at all, which makes me wonder why did they use it in the first place. You in fact could see that you still had it will you first placed it in the crease and then I'm braids that effect from there. Another thing is I usually do the whole lid and then go back over in the end with a pop of I defrost or a whiter brighter shade on the on the lid, therefore completely covering the original shade that was put on first. You actually saved that part for last and you didn't have four or five Shades under it you only had your primer under it. And I know why you did that was because you said when using a free frost or a shimmer you want to apply it right to your base so that it stays on, and gives a better adhesive to the color. I found your method much faster more precise and not spending an hour applying your eye shadow, only to have put down several coats of color to cover it up with that pop a sparkle, frost or shimmer.

You're a great teacher! I've been a mkp artist for almost 20 yrs and I got some great tips here, thank you! Now if I may, give you one piece of advice? Please consider switching your ring light for a soft box. A ring light was invented to get rid of any shadows for a science centric project, not actually to shoot beauty. It takes away ALL shadows and makes things FLAT. It's also pretty harsh and shows every detail...pores included! Soft boxes on the other hand are LIFE. Even better when they are pointed down on a 45 degree angle (not necessary, though!). Just a suggestion!

I find it (personally) really nice that she shows all these details. Soft boxes give this kind of photoshopped blurry look imo and it makes me feel like the result isn't "real"

Thanks for giving the alternatives for eye primers. I can't seem to find one that works so I've been using concealer, but I don't think that's working well either. I'll try the Elf primer. Your blending tips were great. :)

I've used the Elf primer and it is really nice. And it's only like $3

I've used the mac paint pots for eye primer, like everyone said to use and I must be the only person in the world who hates how it makes my eyeshadow look. Definitely going to try the elf!

@@mistywilson3520 I agree. I tried it and its so dry actually and pasty , ugh no, and even for non dry lids its still too heavy even a little bit...didnt like it, back to my urban decay primer portion.

I have watched SOOOOO many eyeshadow videos. I try and follow them but fail. Your video was so easy to follow and I love how you including how you hold the brush and apply the eyeshadow. Thank you for making an amazing video!

This technique was so hard to get but after I figured it out it changed the way that I do my eyeshadow it looks so flawless! I would absolutely love to see a video like this about cream products and what type of technique you used to apply them. I love the look you created using the to Huda Beauty pallets I wish more people would do tutorials about using multiple pallets because as a regular person doing my makeup I am constantly reaching for multiple pallets to finish a look instead of just one and it's so great to see somebody finally acknowledged that ❤
