I cannot believe you are self-taught! You sound so technical, like a school makeup artist sounds. I guess some just get it and some need more practice to learn these skills.

Brenda Owsley exactly I’ve seen so many makeup videos and none every explained why you do certain colours in the crease etc and I felt untilninunderstoidnthst I’d never really know what I was doing, or trying to achieve, i could only try to replicate. Samantha rahvandahl also does good beginner videos.... as if I’m still a beginner at age 36, but so much has changed since I first started learning makeup

You’re so articulate and I love how specific your terminology is, I’ve never watched a tutorial where we talk about planes and space. All of the things you mentioned I already know, but that’s just from years and years of practice. It was awesome I hear the words of the process out loud. I think this video will be so helpful to beginners and i know I’ll be sharing it with my little sister who’s just starting out. Giiiirl. You’re amazing.

FINALLY!! This is all of the information that I couldn’t find anywhere else on YT (or anywhere else period TBH). I’ve been working on stepping up my makeup looks (since we’re all stuck inside, I figure it’s a great time to practice). Nobody ever mentioned that blending rule of thumb (larger brush=lighter shade), and I’ve been struggling and making a right royal mess of my eyes with scads of fallout (my Huda Amethyst palette has suffered the most). Thank you thank you thank you! Now that I know what I’ve been doing wrong, I can focus on what I need to do right. You’re my favorite YT reviewer, and I’m so damn excited that I found your channel 💋😘. I’ll also be recommending your channel to everyone who will listen. Also, I don’t think you’re long winded at all. You’re entertaining but every single thing you say is informative, so not a minute is wasted. And please do some sequels: eyes are the most fun to do, but they’re also where everything can go wrong, so you’re saving us all time and money (not to mention frustration and sometimes tears-so great when you’re trying to get your eyes to look good and half crying with frustration because you can’t get it right-). Please keep kicking ass so the rest of us can be a little more fierce

This was excellent! Your explanation of the placement of the different types of shadows made so much sense & I can't wait to do my makeup tomorrow because I believe it's going to look much better thanks to your helpful tips! Darker colors/smaller brushes tip was my favorite. Thanks for being so thorough! I think that makeup tutorials are great, but when you learn the mechanics & learn techniques from people who have the knowledge & patience to explain the hows & whys, viewers can use them to create their own perfect look for their own face. Yes for tutorials like this!!!

Bringing down the shadow on the lower lashline is so flattering on just about everyone, especially on aging eyes, people should really go for it! Key is to just make sure the bottom edge is nicely blended out. I have hooded eyes from age, and the way to hide it is to just bring the darkest color just past the corner, then connect it to the bottom lashline shadows.
