I LOVE nail tabs. They've been a nail saver when it comes to press-ons. It helps to add olive oil and/or dishsoap into the water when you soak them during removal!

Your videos are always so fun to watch. And a big thank you again for your last declutter video when you just got real with us. Your chat while cleaning was just so perfectly organic and natural. I was doing my own makeup and getting ready for work while watching and listening to that video and it just put me mentally into the perfect place to face the day. I feel that people really don't understand the pressures faced by KZbin celebrities, and I'm glad you're able to stay true to yourself (with just a little help from a therapist). Your genuine frankness is so refreshing, so thank you for sharing!

@jessica15807 ай бұрын
@@KTurra88 yes! Regular polish will work on clear press ons (I order mine from Amazon). I would definitely use a base coat on them first though, otherwise they may chip quicker because of how smooth the press ons are.

I just tried Olive & June press-ons right before xmas - I just wanted cherry red nails for the holiday and didn't want to bother with gel polish, etc. I was super impressed with them, they stayed on for 10 days and I had to remove them after a shower, I think they would have continued to stay on honestly. My only compliant is that I need short/xtra short and they didn't have a huge selection at Walgreens/Walmart.

Great tip! I also stopped using press-on nails, as the glue was wreaking havoc on my brittle nail beds, and I was getting some bruising. The Impress nails treat my nailbeds much kinder, but I'm not too fond of the lifting. There's just no way to get those flush to the cuticle. Good point about the water. I try to avoid wetting my nails for a few hours before doing my nails. I remember hearing that water causes the nail plate to swell so it can cause the nail to pop off. I usually wipe my fingers down with acetone, then push back cuticles. Then wipe it down with alcohol.

I had the same exact nail journey…I have bitten my nails my entire life. I only don’t when they are covered. I started wearing press-on nails in the early 90s. Then started with silk wraps, acrylics with tips, and then about 10 years ago found a place that did acrylics without tips. I wore that for almost ten years until the pandemic. I then started to try to stop biting my nails and growing my own nails. It has been quite the journey. I really don’t bite my nails any more but more like pick at them. I found a channel specializing on natural nails and following her advice I have been able to grow healthy nails, if I keep them really short. I have started wearing press-ons again. But they don’t last long on me…probably because I do dishes without gloves…but they last enough for when I heavenly or have a special occasion. I just got some of the tabs but have not tried them. I am also on a search for new brands. I have been using static nails…a bit on the expensive side. I definitely want to see the suggestions. Thank you for a great video

If removing gels causes that much damage, they’re doing it wrong. The way to remove gel without destroying your nails is the file it down JUST ENOUGH without grinding the actual nail down. It takes a bit more care and skill but it works fine. I’ve been doing gels for quite a while and my nail person did the filing so gently it didn’t ruin my nails. I learned from watching her and now do it myself. The soak off chemical is too harsh IMO. Filing just barely enough to remove the gel is much better.

The quality of press on nails has come such a long way. Even Kiss has some pretty nice ones now. My only complaint is that it's hard to find ones that are narrow enough for my nails, and not super short. My solution to this (hopefully) is buying a box of Apres full cover tips, figuring out which sizes I need and then just getting the little refill bags of those sizes. Daily Charme also has extended sizes and refill sizes, and they can be cheaper than Apres, but by the time I pay for shipping, convert to my currency, duty fees, etc. it ends up costing the same or more than buying Apres (from a website in my country).
