Alexandra, instead of placing a bumper on your shoe cabinet try this alternative. There is a type of stop that goes on the top hinge of your door with a rubber end that will stop at the wall. It is adjustable in how far it will project out. I just fitted one on a coat closet door to prevent it hitting a new piece of furniture. I purchased mine at Home Dep.

Love the result! Except maybe a little more attention to detail with the tiles? It's an old apartment and the tiles would've looked great with an older style/ classic pattern in them, or a border or feature tile. It would have made more sense near the staircase imo. All black makes it look a bit like the floor in a public area, as much as i love black. Still love your work though x

The tile option is cute but it reminds me of a bathroom, that's probably just me! The application however is horrid, not your fault at all of course. It's misaligned, crooked and it looks bubbly? Not sure how to say this properly but it looks like it wasn't pressed on hard enough?? There's air trapped underneath or something. The outside lines are not clean and smooth as they should be and I'm not even that knowledgable on this, it just looks off and kinda sloppy which is a shame. However when everything comes together it doesn't draw as much attention so ultimately as long as you guys are happy that's enough. Loved all the little details and changes! In older homes it's hard to line things up because measurements were not exact when it was made and things shift over time...my home is 120 years old balancing on the og tree stumps and nothing is even..you just do your best and adjust as you can..definitely not for the ocd lifestyle though...drives my husband nuts but I enjoy the chaos☺💚

Overall, I’m loving what you’ve done with your entry. I really want your entry for my house! I loved the way the original green looked on the shoe cabinet, along with its contrast to the brown wood. So, I was bummed you changed the color and still kept the brown wood topper. But it works and the color makes a lot more sense as a color to repeat throughout your house. Love the idea from another viewer here in the comments to connect the bumper to the top of your door instead of sticking it on your shoe cabinet. Also, now I am really interested in shopping at Desenio! Never heard of it before.

The space looks clean and welcoming. It is so pleasant to feel refreshed rather than overwhelmed by clutter at your front door. I would absolutely invest in a Welcome mat as it will keep your stairs and carpet much cleaner and keep people from bringing dirt and mud into the house. I think organizing the entryway area by how often items are used is a solid strategy. Since I ride almost every day, my unsightly bike helmet is out on the rack. Also, I love the idea of under bed storage boxes or other storage for things that are out of season. I actually use a a pretty trunk for this at the foot of my bed. It doubles as a bench and it works for me! I do not love the under bed boxes on top of your storage cabinets in the bedroom. It would be be be nice to see maybe a basket or two or some plant life up there instead.

Hi Alexandra! You’re absolutely great at organizing (and seem to love it as much as I do) but I wanted to share with you Cas’ videos from Clutterbug’s channel. I recently found her and she changed my life! Okay, that’s a little dramatic, but she’s definitely made a big difference. She’s broken down everyone’s organizing styles into 4 different categories and I’ve found her information to be so helpful when I’m organizing for others (and honestly myself too.) For too long I was trying to get other people organized by my method and would get upset when they couldn’t upkeep it like I wanted them to lol. Now I know they just need different organizing solutions. I highly recommend you watch her videos on the 4 different clutterbug styles. I think they will help you so much! Anyway, another lovely makeover you’ve done here. Looks great! And I can’t wait to see the litter box hack!
