I have a tiny linen cupboard and no space to build more cupboards, do you think a line of these down a hall way would work? Would it fit much linen do you think in each 🤔?

I'm SO thankful you share the reality of these things. So many folks think they could never DIY; they don't understand the mistakes that have to be made when you're doing it! That's how you learn and do jobs well 🤗 I especially loved this video because shoes all over drive me crazy too 😜 your personality is really fun and doesn't feel forced. All around well done! The outakes are fun too 😌

Okay, so I neeeeeeever comment on KZbin but I wanted to 1.) Thank you for taking the time to make the vid. And 2.) Compliment your execution. I looked high and low for this hack, but everything I found was super confusing or didn't have enough images to exemplify what was being said. Yours is legit the clearest and easiest to follow. And I appreciate you highlighting how the lazy route didn't work, bc I def would've tried and gotten nowhere lol. Love that you're so down to earth and I really like your decor style - get it, girl! I'm excited to put my cabinets together now! 🙏

Looked great! That piece looks narrow enough that I could put it in my hallway. Hope you put wood glue in the extra holes you drilled with the frog tape template (the wood dowel didn't look as snug as it might should have been). Also (just a thought for extra support/sturdiness), when you added the second piece and tucked it behind the first one, instead of just using glue, maybe drill a few extra holes (if possible) on the front backside (where you slid the second piece together) and use wood glue/dowels for additional support. Love the slim, clean look of that cabinet for hiding shoes! I was amused that you sorted all of the hardware! At least I know I'm not the only one that does that! Glad you're sharing, it inspires ideas for the rest of us!!

Ikea also has some plastic ones that I have brought called Trones Does your family use them? I put them up but their shoes are still everywhere and I am constantly tripping on them...lol Another really great use for these is to store your kids school and art projects. They are good for that because they fit the ones that are oversized.

I missed the drilling into the wall. I have concrete walls that had painted wood paneling over them. sounds wild but that's how they built the townhouse complex. that's my issue is drilling is so hard on my arms.

It depends on the shoe. A regular sneaker /tennis shoe probably can fit. At best it can fit laying on its side. Large bulky boots like timberlands can’t. This shoe cabinet is definitely a hallway saver lol!

That Alien Tape is really THE TRUTH but it will snatch the paint off the walls! So just be prepared for that after it’s been there for a while and it’s also washable. Yup! WASHABLE! I use it to tack down rugs in my classroom and then just take it up and wash it off with soap and water to use it in another area. Sounds gross but my floors get cleaned daily and it’s covered by the rug so it’s not that dusty and very easy to clean. After washing I let the tape dry on wax paper. If it is super dirty like black i just throw away. One roll of tape lasts a good while.

You know what I hate? When someone calls something a hack when it's actually the exact intended use of the item. A Hemnes shoe cabinet being used for shoe storage is not a hack. What you did was an IKEA Hemnes cabinet modification.
