I love all the people saying none of this is renter friendly, she added a disclaimer before any of it saying some of them were a little more renovative and that it was cleared with the landlord beforehand. None of yall actually listen. Any project, even a relatively major one can be renter friendly. You just have to ASK YOUR LANDLORD if they are okay with whatever it is you're trying to do. Most will be fine with it as long as they consider it an improvement and they don't have to pay for it, but some may even deduct the cost from your rent if they're nice.
@lillyc.11945 жыл бұрын
Yes it's always best to ask because it can't hurt I'd they say no or get upset if you didn't ask beforehand. My niece and her husband have done that with great results. The landlord appreciates them asking before doing anything and most times he gives them the supplies or helps them buy the right things. They've wanted to move away but they love the place even tho it's a rental and the landlord would hate his best tenants moving away 😊

The light fixtures and doors were outdated and he said I can fix them. Also the walk in closet system is weird. the way the bars are lined up makes it hard for us to actually walk in, so hes happy that im fixing that as well. Love this! All these tips are super inspiring. 💕 Tip: You can easily lift your entire stovetop (it’s hinged), wipe it out, and scrub it clean, when necessary, with a blue Scotch-Brite pad and Barkeeper’s Friend. (Same for burner drip pans, to keep them clean and free of build-up - you shouldn’t use foil in them.) Also, hardware stores generally charge less than $16 for burner drip pans, so be sure to shop around if you’re on a tight budget and need to replace any. (P.S. Never soak your burner coils- it’ll ruin them. Just wipe them carefully and dry well.)

i never was a big fan of pink but lately i've been loving it so seeing your pink backsplash made me consider getting pink tiles for my bathroom walls!

Those black stove pans are awesome. I use in every apartment--they don't show burnt spots and clean up super easy (soak in TSP or stick them in oven and spray with oven cleaner).

So, how would this work when you move out? Would you put all the old stuff back (i.e., the sink, etc.)? Or would you cut a deal with the landlord?
@tinasme5 жыл бұрын
I would just leave her/him everything. You do it for yourself and to be comfy, no matter if the landlord cares about that or not. It's a gift and good karma.

hmm it depends but changes like this like the sink and wall changes I would undoubtedly leave it. But then there are people that even take their light bulbs with them 🤣 oh well is their right but at least leave one to see on the apartment man!

@@tinasme Alexandra said that she gave her landlord a list of everything she wanted to do--she didn't do the reno selfishly and without regard to what the landlord cares about.

Wait this was supposed to be under $100? The sink alone is more expensive than that tho
@carolinehyde4755 жыл бұрын
Froufrou Deluxe no, the other kitchen reno she mentioned in the intro was under $100, this one wasn’t

Lol my whole kitchen is back in the 60's, but think if I do slowly it can be updated. I love the sink you put in.

Instead of buying jars for dried goods, I found a shape of a spaghetti sauce jar that I liked. I just kept buying that jar, making spaghetti and then I’d clean the jar and put something in it like dried beans, lentils, etc. The nice thing about this is that everything is the same size so you can fit more in your cabinet. Again, I did this w my vitamins where I used one brand of spice jars. When I just used up a spice, I cleaned the jar & filled it w vitamins. I did a similar thing w oils & vinegars. I found inexpensive jars with spouts and I could fit so much more in the cabinets. I keep surplus in the pantry closet.
