Short chapters are my jam!! I love a long book. Some of my favorite books creep close to 1000 pages, but short chapters make a book fly by, no matter the page count. My favorite thing in the world is saying, "ok, just one more chapter!" knowing full well I'll likely be saying that again in just a few pages.

Same!! I honestly think if books had shorter chapters it would be easier for non readers to get into reading!! I love them!!!

The way I’m getting out of a two year reading slump is poetry. I find it a lot more digestible to read and pick apart a single poem than it is a novel. Also working though a poetry book (the worlds wife atm) and a book (the song of Achilles) at the same time gives me a good breather and allows me to keep going

I 100% agree with short chapters helping a ton! I wish all books had short chapters. If the chapters are short the page count doesn’t intimidate me nearly as much either. I’m going to have to check out An Unkindness of Magicians, the rest are ones I’ve read and agree, or on my TBR. Sometimes for me, rereading a favorite helps pull me out of a reading slump also.

I think my first actual reading slump was in the middle of Goblet of Fire, which I don't know why because that book was amazing. What I normally get is that I pick up a book and suddenly feel like reading something else, then I finally give up and pick up the other book and start eyeing another book🤦♀️Like I am currently reading a book I have been meaning to read for a while, but I can't focus on it because I've suddenly got this intense craving to re-read Nevermoor(Which may be partially your fault mind you😑) But I love that book so I am not complaining...not much. Great video though! Can't wait to pick some of these up

Lock Every Door sounds really good. Not only that, but the cover art is aesthetically really appealing to me. I first got into thrillers a few years ago. I think my introduction to it was, of course, You by Caroline Kepnes. But, here's my recommendations for really good thrillers: 1- The Good Girl, Don't You Cry, and When The Lights Go Out (all by Mary Kubica) 2- An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen 3- The Girl in 6E by A.R. Torre (Book 1 in a 3 book series, I haven't read the other 2) 4- The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins (I predicted the ending correctly, but that doesn't mean the story wasn't still unenjoyable. We love a good unreliable narrator).

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins is one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. Don’t let the title fool u bc there is so much depth to this story. It’s 372 pages and it’s written as a love story. But it definitely develops the characters and it truly is such a raw and realistic viewpoint about love and feelings. There’s also spin off book of one of the friends. Anyway, if you’re in a reading slump go read this book as well. If I could I’d wipe my memories of this book just to read it again for the first time.

even if its not quite the same... 1 book comes to mind of a simular concept though far more brief mind you based on your videos #2 book the midnight library and you find books on ones choices in life , comes from the book The Magician's Nephew from Narnia its book 1. its to bad it wasn't given more of importance and magic. What happens is the nephew visiting his uncle ends up getting 2 rings 1 being green and when its used the kid and reader are pulled out of the planet he's in and ends up going up a body of water lands ashore by a nice tree. you find THE Wood Between THE Worlds. im sure youd find many different adventure possibles with the wood and ring.Personally I thought it sounded interesting and Id have brought a large reflected object to place by the pond and tree of your world pond. anyways just sharing. thanks maby ready player 1 book could be fun
