I love that you decided to share your NYC footage with a themed reading vlog! I would recommend checking out Amy Poeppel's books - all are set in or near NYC and have family dynamics, flawed characters, humor and although there are rich people problems she pairs them with folks who are less economically privileged. Favorite bookstore is Wild Rumpus in Minneapolis - childrens to YA books and they have cats and chickens and other such animals hanging out!🦊🍎

I can’t say for sure what my favorite bookstore in the world would be but my favorite I’ve been to is probably Kramers in D.C. I also recently visited Maggs Bro. In London and that was pretty awesome

Vromans in LA is my absolute favorite bookstore. It has a barnes and noble feel but almost more quaint, and less commercial. It just feels very special there.

My most favourite bookshop back in NZ (before I moved to Canada) was called the Hard to Find but Worth the Effort Bookshop. It was a combination of 2nd hand books and Rare Books Shop and I LOVED it. I no longer buy physical books here in Canada. My eyes are not so good so I buy E-books now. My favourite E-book bookshop is KOBO!!! 🍏🍎 ♥

🍎, I picked up One for my Enemy and Pineapple Street a few months ago. One for my Enemy started out promising. I got a little over halfway and the wheels came off the story. I flipped back through to see if maybe it was bound wrong. Unfortunately the later half of the book is the same as the beginning. In the end I donated the book to the library. Still haven’t started Pineapple Street. Anyway have a great weekend.

🍎 I have a few favorite bookstores: The Last Bookstore (LA) , Joseph-Beth Booksellers (Cincinnati, Ohio), and The Book Mill (Montague, MA.) The Book Mill’s slogan is “Books You Don’t Need in a Place You Can’t Find!” It’s indie bookstore that sells used books. The ambience is incredible and I know you’d love it! You should come here to Massachusetts sometime in the Fall! The fall foliage is breathtaking, the vibes are peak New England, it’s like all of your dark academia dreams come true! 💜

I loved One For My Enemy but I did feel the same way as you about like specifically Sasha and Lev, I thought they were going to be in love, not at all like how they actually were when they were first getting together. I love memoires and biographies and Just Kids is probably my favorite. Her and Robert Mapplethorps love story is beautiful, but very sad, of course, since Robert died of AIDS in the eighties. Its incredibly well written.

I went to NY back in 2016 for my 13th bday and I absolutely loved it, like I’m from Ohio (fucking canton of all places💀) so it was like crazy for me. I definitely like big cities more, like i love being able to use public transit and walk places

Love the video, but have to point out that saying "New York City or Brooklyn" isn't quite right. Brooklyn is one of the five boroughs of New York City, so it is part of NYC. I think you might mean "Manhattan or Brooklyn". Just had to pass along that little knowledge nugget. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit!!
