Hey Lexi! I'm currently reading the Historian right now (about 220 pages in) and I concur that I really think you're gonna love it. It has travel and some dark academic themes with an emphasis on studying, and the prose is beautiful

hi lexi! a note about once upon a broken heart- you should actually consider finishing the caraval series before reading as the prince of hearts is actually from the other two books in the series and it does contain spoilers for the end of the caraval series. that being said, i absolutely loved it- it’s probably my favorite book i’ve read so far this year :)

The Prince of Hearts is part of the Caraval series so you may get spoilers for two of the Caraval books (which are really good, but much different from the first book). I would finish the series before reading Once Upon A Broken Heart.

I can see the irony in this and sometimes I wish I lived English speaking country, so I could just walk to a bookstore and pick new releases from the book selves. I just started back to work after a long medical leave a few months ago. I sold a lot of my books to help with bills and stuff. So excited to be able to afford books again. Several of these are on my wish list! My first purchase was If We Were Villains. I've started a FB group where my friends get to vote on which three books I'm going to read over the next month. Those will be my next purchases. So much fun.

LOL, I loved the moss in the box too. Once I was down in San Diego visiting family and while I was there I needed to finish up an art project which required, you guessed it, moss. I had to go to Michael's and BUY a very expensive bag of moss and I was so annoyed because I live in Oregon and if I had been home I could have literally walked out my door and found more than enough moss without evening leaving my yard. As for Alice Hoffman's Practical Magic series, I've only read the first two but I suspect the best way to read them is not in historical order within the story but in order of publication.

Hey if you need another middle grade read (I absolutely love Keeper of the Lost Cities) I'm just finishing the Frostheart trilogy and it is a wonderful wonderful read with lots of pages (but the flow makes it a fast read), lovely illustrations, and a wonderful story and characters I loved to death! So I'm recommending it 😂
