I’ve shopped here before the plates are cool but the service is freaking awesome! The guy in the video spent over an hour going over what I wanted and let me try on and play with all the stuff in their store. 13/10 they’re good lads.

Really cool stuff, Alex!~ I just looked them up on Google Maps, and, as it turns out, I live 20 minutes away from them!~ Definitely excited to pick-up a plate from them and use that code of yours!!! 😎 To clarify though, they don't produce/sell Level 4 Steel plates, do they? I only managed to find Level 3+ Steel plates on their webstore... or I'm not looking closely enough xD

thanks Jay! from what i understood they sell everything they presented in the video, some armor might be for government contracts but you would have to ask about those

7:15 Hi guys. I used to work at Ceradyne (process control engineer). One of the fun perks of that job was I got to keep some scraps from the scrap bin. That was off the line that made the armor plates for the AH-64 armor panels. That particular armor was rated for multi hit (exact number is classified) of 20mm explosive shells. Anyway I got an idea one day. I took one of the bigger chunks to my friend who is a whiz on Mitsubishi wire EDM. He cut that chunk down to SAPI insert size. And yes it took quite a few hits from .50BMG. I can't give details about the armor material for obvious reasons. But I can say that it is a rather thick piece of Boron Carbide but has a lot of proprietary additives to the mix. Anyway, yes we made a few of them,but this was just a personal project for zhits and giggles. I can say that right now, my friend (he kept them) is the proud owner of the worlds strongest body armor (outside of maybe some government black projects?). 🙂 If you guys have any questions I'll be happy to answer (what I can)

On the fence about their AR600. I find it very suspicious if a company that produces body armour doesnt show footage of it doing its job and torture tested

Rated Vs Certified?
@clorox821
@clorox821 6 ай бұрын
Rated means its what they say it will stop Certified means its what they say it will stop and the government approved the claim So lets say its rifle rated level 3 then it should stop 7.62 but not certified. Certified level 3 will mean it should stop the 7.62 with safe deformation to the plate without it breaking youre ribs

@clorox821 yeah dude, I know. That's why I made the comment. Like, if you're gonna drop a bunch of cash on something that might save your life... get the item that is definitely going to save your life. Rated plates aren't worth the paper the rating is printed on.

Is it true this company provided plates to Ukraine and failed to meet the standard completely? Seems the bullets went though the plates like butter in the video and the comments are saying AI Tactical made those plates.
@samni269
@samni269 Жыл бұрын
Based on that video, I identify it should be AI Tactical (bullet went through) and Lorica (failed but the bullet didn't though). I have been a subscriber of your channel for a long time and made many optics purchase decisions based on your review. Please let us know if that's true.

Asked the guys there about it cause I was concerned too and they told me that it was just some super shady business practices by one of their competitors who was trying to get into the armor market. I have their email response but it boils down to that the scam test hit the plate at the very edge on like the fourth shot where there wasn’t any ceramic and even NIJ cert testing says that a hit there doesn’t mean shit. Look send them an email, they where super willing to answer even that question and didn’t ghost me or pull any weird bullshit and sent me links to all the official documents so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt on this one. A lot of other companies in Canada have straight up lied to me when I asked them questions so they seem to be doing alright.
@krukhlis
@krukhlis Жыл бұрын
No, it's not true( at least regarding level 4 ceramic plates). They are battle tested by ZSU and in use by soldiers. AITactical even has a special line of level 4 ceramic plates where the edge is also protected and matches level 4 requirements which is not the case with other plates from other vendors, where the whole inch from perimeter is either not protected, or has weaker rating. The only problem is such AITactical plates weigh almost 3.4kg, whilst regular level 4 plates have ~ 2.8kg weight. Also, please pay attention -- all of these plates in the video are pretty new, e.g. even 6 months ago the product line was different. So if you have some proof that some plates have failed -- you should probably mention the specific products that you've had such a bad experience with. P.S. Saying that, I have to admit that some plates of another Canadian vendor that has their store located not so far from AITactical have actually failed and unfortunately resulted in heavy wounds and deaths of Ukrainian soldiers. 😭

@@texpatriot8462but it shouldn't take a lot. Dragon Skin was first to market with an untested design in heat. The glue didnt hold up under Iraqi heat. That was 04. Its two decades later and a lot better heat resistant glues have arrived

I bet this will be insanely overpriced. I've been messing with $20 Chinese plates, for the price of a single rifle rated plate made in America you can equip a small militia with Chinese armour. I think the future is home made solutions tbh. Layering a soft and hard $20 Chinese plate will stop most non AP rounds from a longarm. They're shockingly efficient. But if you added them together in a single module and filled it with epoxy you could have something seriously anti-AP. Even with generic equipment the solution is home made now. With price gouging from China you can't tell the quality of anything.
