Farmrail in HO Scale - Shelf Layout Operations - February 2022!

We're back to running trains on my HO scale layout depicting Farmrail in Frederick, OK circa 1995-2005! The latest addition? A Proto Throttle to enhance realistic operations!

Great video with realistic speed. I'm a fan of elevators and love the ones you have. Hope to start soon on my layout in a 12x14 room. Already have 4 walthers elevators done and am scratch building the one my dad worked at (in SE Missouri) from '51 (yr I was born) 'til about 2000 when it closed down like so many others located in small towns. Like your music too, but just a little too loud. Drowned out the sound of the loco working. LOL Looking forward to more videos in the future.

Love the ops session really enjoyable to watch, my only comment/advice is I would rather listen to the locomotive than the music(even if the music was at a far lower volume in the background) as it is it completely drowns out the locomotive, other than that you’ve made a superb layout and the ops sessions are entertaining - Pete

Looks great, Alex! Great job on the ground cover, too. What kind and lengths of static grass did you use? I just got the Peco 'Mico' grass applicator, but do not have any grass for it yet, so it's not been used yet. Your grass looks like it's standing upright nicely, but a lot of others what I've seen online looks like it's kind of flopped over, which I don't like. Not sure if it's the applicator, the glue, or a bad technique when that happens to people. Soundtrack is cool too---what is it?

I used a variety of lengths from Silfor and Heiki, I believe from 2mm to 6mm. I used a larger Peco applicator. They key is lots of wet glue and ensuring that static electricity is flowing to get it to stand straight up. Music is from some free KZbin sources.

The green Dodge pickup at 5:08 is nice! What is the loco (very cool)? An Alco something or other? What is the flat semi-circular concrete object across from the water tower from 16:19 to 17:33? Nice video!

The pickup is from Woodland Scenics. The locomotive is an Intermountain model of a GP10 (EMD, rebuilt at Paducah). The concrete object is an unloading platform, simulating a warehouse "in the aisle."

Layout is 10.5 x 11 ft L-shaped, 22 in. deep
