Truly inspirational. I never trained with Yahara but had the honour to be taught but Enoeda, Kanazawa, Asano, Kawasoe & Ohta. They all taught this way but in the early days we never had translators so often we didn't understand and missed fundamental rules so felt in awe of their technique that we failed to emulate. Thankfully language skill progressed so now we can learn the finer details and understand.

That's a hell of a training! I got exhausted just by watching! But that's the spirit, after all. There is no shortcut in Martial Arts! Oss!!

Until Frank Smith wiped the floor with him. Enoeda was stronger, more athletic and "IMHO" had better technique - more destructive.

@@berylrosenberg704 can you tell me more about this, where and what happened, I haven't heard this before, was it in a tournament or sparring in a dojo.
@berylrosenberg7044 жыл бұрын
@@williephimister3077 The attack on Frank was in a dojo but the sparring against Yahara was in tournaments

Oss

Looks good but Not good... Over extending causing inbalance. You can see as soon as they over extend they drop their leg rather than retracting the leg to chamber position.

the man with the stripe sleeves has the best kick.

He is one of those people who feels the need to make noise to enhance the image of power, so he is very vocal during the kume of the kick. And he is also hitting/slapping his Gi (karate suit) at the same time to accentuate that image. This is very fitting for someone with go faster strips on their suit. Yes he is the most flexible but he is insecure. Perhaps he is feeling nervous in front of Sensei (I know that I would be LOL)

Rob G well spotted. In japan the nail that sticks up gets beat back down. He’d have been looked at like that because of all the things you just said. Special treatment was had for sure off camera

well, its a trouble when a teacher can not show the students how yoko kekomi should be done, secondly, it would be proper to see blue belt grade correctly thundering yoko geri like it would be his nature to kick all day long :) got my point?

Property in Tokyo is an absolute premium. Seriously expensive to have a dojo. All small dojo’s.

You can work through the air for decades without understanding the meaning of all the movements. So without ever trying to hit the same bag for you, these movements will be sacred, but meaningless. Useless. I am a karate fan in the distant past. And a boxer. And that's why I say: the meaning of any pushing blow is like if you have to open a very heavy door tightly closed in front of you without stopping for a single second. And most of us have done this everyday movement many times without thinking. (Once, in a rage, I almost took out the doors along with the jamb with such a blow.) And in training, again and again, they stubbornly searched for the great absurd meanings of the "secret technique" of the blow. I hope someone understood correctly.
