Sue Gray , appointed by Starmer to run the Labour Party has been widely discussed in the main stream media as having "a spooky background " and having been "the most powerful person in Westminster" exercising a veto over Tory cabinet appointments on behalf of the Security Services. It is not possible for Starmer to have been unaware of this in giving her the top job in Laboir. Starmer is indeed acting for the State Forces who have always been deeply hostile to trade unions and the left. He and Gray are systematically destroying Labour's political and organisational class base. Starmer openly said to the media he prefers unelected Davos to elected Westminster 'as its easier to get things done'. He now parades himself in a black shirt without irony. In effect Labour is now top down 100% a captured opposition run by some of the most ruthless and right-wing forces in the UK State.

Sheer boneheaded nonsense. His record speaks for itself. His constituents love him because he takes up every unjust cause when others are content to draw their salary and sit in the Commons quietly doing nothing but work for re-election. Career politicians who believe in nothing. The Party is a democratic socialist party. It says so on every membership card. The leaders are not and never have socialists of any stripe. They are entryists. They should be honest and go somewhere else.

I left the Left when Blair started spruiking the neo Marxism of Social Justice. I have been watching centrists for the past ten years. It's fascinating to hear from old time left wingers like Sayer. I'm surprised the left's abandonment of the class struggle, replacung it with postmodernist minority oppression politics seems to have gone unnoticed by Alexi, he appears to still think there is a left and right wing? There's Managerialism vs Conservatism. There's no mileage in looking after "the workers" Herbert Marcuse's "New Man" essay of 1965 identified "the ghetto classes" and the spolit university brats of the oost war nouveau riche as Marxism's last chance. And here we have it, Managerial middle class children of the 1960s stirring up migrant minorities into a frenzy of resentment. All while the working intergenerational poor are mocked and overlooked.

The Tories may be loathsome, lacking compassion and obsessed with personal wealth and self-interest, but at least they don’t make much effort to disguise that; and now, they seem to have lost interest in actually governing anything. But I actually fear an incoming Starmer government because they’re already giving off a real ‘thought control’ vibe. It should be possible for Labour members to take a critical position on the Israeli government without being erroneously labelled as ‘anti-Semitic’, for example.

I think the most clever trick that's been played is to redefine what "the Left" even means. To me, being on the political Left means socialism, trades unions, the NHS, keeping private profit motives away from the provision of essential services, etc. It's about the interests of the many over the interests of the few. But "the Left" has been redefined to what feels more like an American interpretation, where it's basically a dirty word that carries connotations of weirdy radicals and rabble-rousers trying to make life less profitable for those nice capitalist gentlemen who only want what's best for all of us. America doesn't even have a "Left" of course; it only has a choice between Extreme RIght and Centre Right, and no actual option that's recognisably on the political Left. And that's where the UK is headed with Starmer's so-called Labour Party.

If he's now supporting Corbyn that surprises me because I regard Corbyn as a despicable character that wines and dines terrorists while pushing for the persecution of our own soldiers. Nevertheless I'd be interested to see the film that has caused all the fuss. Even if I don't agree with it's content (I don't know yet because I've not seen it) I don't believe it should be banned. Ironically, the film Alexei refers to (the original 1956 "Invasion of the Body Snatchers") was itself "censored" to neuter that powerfully downbeat ending with the man who's speaking the truth and trying to warn everyone being dismissed as a raving loon. It had wraparound scenes added to reassure audiences that an offscreen event had conveniently verified his story, so he _was_ believed and everything will be fine. The original downbeat ending is probably closer to what would happen in reality.

I'm not lying. @timg1246 - stick to politeness in future. Sarcasm isn't the best way to introduce yourself to someone. My workplace has "restricted mode" on You Tube. I work for a local authority in a pretty bog standard job and often listen to Not the Andrew Marr show whilst I'm working at home. I'm guessing it's flagged as "conspiracy theory" . The Kit Klarenberg video was also blocked. The Gray Zone is blocked. It sometimes blocks a lot of Novara Media's content.

Many people compare the present to 1984, and with good reason, some to the first Cold War with likewise good reason. But I see even further back - one hundred years exactly. In 1923 people in the West were happily joking, partying as if nothing was at risk, totally unaware of the unimaginable terrors to come. And they even had an oppositional press. Feel free to imagine the world ten years from now. I'm unfit to advise anybody, having long ago lost all hopes in this dystopian nightmare. However, if anyone puts hopes in the young people, know two things about the Left: - we are way too few. Even after a revolution (which will inevitably come), real socialists will be below ten percent. - The Left has shot itself in the foot by being absorbed in narcissistic identity politics, having completely lost the greater picture, and especially lost interest in global affairs and geopolitics. Of course I wish you all good luck, anyhow.

You don't need a dictatorship to have fascism. You just need all your main parties and acceptable to the establishment parties to represent private wealth, corporations and capital. The liberty of a democracy is not safe if people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That in its essence is fascism: ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power. Franklin D Roosevelt

The Leftfield 'activist' tent at Glastonbury was weird. My sons first time at Glasto... and he kept asking to go there (it was quite quiet and shaded and he learned absolutely nothing). The poutine chips were great though really enjoyed it! My sis is a maternity matron in Manchester. She went to the NHS debate, which was a joke. The panellist first question about what they'd like for the NHS was 'spa treatment'. True story. Sis went a bit red and shouted wtf. At least everyone had a great vibe thanking the BSL interpreter. Who of course was great, like the sound engineers or people who put the tent up. Still. Thanking the BSL interpreter was basically the best bit of content I saw.

I'm not politically tribal and I find both parties not deserving of election, full of identitarianism and thoroughly untrustworthy and lacking competency. There has always been a measure of these things, but things have gotten to a level where I wonder where our country is going. My bet is deeper authoritarianism under the guise of "think of the children". If that happens, it wont matter which flavour it is - we'll all suffer for it.

It was Corbyn in his naivety who appointed Starmer into a prominent cabinet position. Despite having took part in the coup where in a letter he made clear he could not support him. As shadow Brexit minister (as an arch remainer) it gave him the platform to raise his profile to become leader, after he stood on a leftwing platform to win over the Corbynistas in the membership & a majority voted for him. You reap what you so.

Yes Alexei - citing the source. Throughout my long dalliance with Yotube's jejune algorithms, I've stood my corner in just about any and every echo chamber bar my own. Never demoralised in the face of spineless wonkers - because I'm their antithesis. I think it means they went sheep-shagging with my grandparents or something like that. I'm not really given to care about the sundry carnal fetishes de jour, to be honest: I'm an old fashioned 'lezdom gymnastics and opera glasses' kind of guy. I recall, back in 2017, committing to challenge head-on the illiterati consensus which unwittingly parroted the state-sanctioned blitzkrieg on our Jezza's character. My aim was to encourage them to reflect on the source of their opinion but they tended to become strangely churlish and obtuse about thinking off-piste. If it's not on the bullet point crib card, it's not up for discussion. And then triumphantly Rumplestiltskin-esque when I asked their voting intention. A full tacit confession, your honour. Checkmate, ker-plunk, without a cluedo. Credit where due, Yotube's algorithms have improved in the last year or two - presumably since the algae have evolved beyond relevance of the spotty-ersed wenises who conceived them. An apolitical vague conspiracy exhorter uploaded a vlog last year in which he cited (effectively) 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' (1978) as the original. Donald Sutherland's fine in his own unique way but ... Alexei: circumspect. (No lazy stereotypical assumption intended.) Ironically (in light of Alexei's citation), the leading thesp in 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' (1956) is a fellow by the name of McCarthy. Kevin McCarthy. Shaken, not snatched.

Labour became tory party #2 decades ago. I still say with total conviction that í will not vote for any Labour mp again until it starts working against the banks and corporations, not with them. In fact I see no point in voting general anymore. Vote local if you feel you must, at least at that level you get a handful of mps who really care and havnt had their heads turned yet by the westminster classes.

The following tract, Mouseland, is a parody of a political fable, known as the “Story of Mouseland”, adjusted to express the view that the British political system is flawed and thereby offers voters, by utilising the First Passed The Post (F.P.T.P.) system, a false dichotomy: mainly the choice between two parties, neither of which fully represents the electorate’s interests: "The mice voted in blue cats, which represented the Conservative Party, subsequently they found out how hard it was to simply exist in life. Next they voted in the red cats, which symbolized the Labour Party, things were different but still not good for mice; because the government was still run by cats, albeit wearing different coloured coats. The story continues and a mouse gets an idea that perhaps mice should run their government, not the cats. This mouse was accused of being a Socialist and subsequently vilified in the mass media." The truth is that in reality democracy doesn't exist, it never has existed, it is purely a dream state of the mind. People need to wake up to the fact that The Establishment wholly control the government; when a handful of influential people have greater power over the lives of the nation’s people than they, the people, have over their own lives, it demonstrates that the political system needs to radically change. The electoral system itself is worthless, the ballot paper has become the toilet paper of the masses.
