Alex as someone who has watch countless videos of yours (and a number of YT golf channels) about how hit the driver straight or straighter, to date literally none of training and fixes have worked and this one probably won't either, your training is both entertaining and informative, but for some us it's not solving the problems. Get a player who is struggling on with you and have them hit the ball, we know you can hit on command whatever shot you describe

Thank you… will definitely address this for sure 🙌🏼

This ⬆️for sure! For me , being cheap/ poor /frugal or however its framed …im determined to get the swing(or ball flight ) back i had in the 90’s to early 2000’s without seeing a teacher who may or may not work or click with me .. i know my swing is shit especially at the moment but i cant completely build a whole new swing and dont feel i should have to since i use to play to bogey’ish golf with little to no practice and playing 1 to 2x’s a week in season .. now i practice 1-2x’s a week and play once a week typically during season and struggle worse than ever …my long winded point is,if i see you correcting another persons shit swing (slice/push with an occasional good or left shot) i think itd be possible for me and others to see our issues to some extent ..and then in seeing how this person is fixing their issue(s) i or we would see what we need to do more clearly .. 👍🏼✌️

Hi there - I'm a 11.7 H/Index - 59 yrs old - 7 iron distance 165 yds - but I play often semi retired - I also am fortunate enough to play with low handicap players fairly regularly - Golf is a very hard game!! Alex is doing an admirable job of communicating concepts which are universally accepted as sound principles / fundamentals of golf swing theory - there are no "fringe theories" here as far as can see. Having said all of that your progress in this game will probably come down to * Your ability to devote time practicing these lessons* Your athletic ability - ie strength/flexibility/speed/coordination* If you aren't making progress from KZbin then start taking videos of your swing from different angles and ask yourself if what you see resembles what your imagination registers your actual swing to look like. Last resort is actual golf lessons - but few of us are prepared to do that. Best of luck to all of us aspiring golfers. Cheers!

Aha! I now realize the reason why I've been hitting my driver so poorly on my last few outings! I have been practicing this very same drill in the past in my backyard hitting net and enjoyed superb results on the course, but I slacked off and haven't practiced it in over a month or more. I was just at a loss as to what I was doing differently and you reminded me! I can loudly say that this drill works and I will be heading to the backyard shortly to do these drills again. I've found that as I got better at striking the ball properly, I can lower the stick to where the clearance is just enough for the club to pass under it - then take that to the course and be smiling for the entire round. Thanks for this!

Great video guys, For me the most important thing I've picked up is keeping your lead shoulder pointing at the ball for as long as you can 👍

Great vid thanks! I'm wondering how to properly feel like i'm keeping my back to target. Practicing this makes me hit way behind the ball. How do I mix this with leading with the hips, or other movements in the swing?

Alex I have a random question..... When your above the ball all set for the shot do you hold your breath or breeth in/out on the backswing? Just thinking maybe too much but does your breathing actually affect the swing if it's out of sync with the back and down swing ? 🤔

no i wouldnt hold my breath no, i think it can affect as you come into the ball

What works for me is the feeling of at the top the club is moving slightly back in my right hand just before I put my weight into my left side and that works great for me with irons and driver.

I love this video. But I always struggled understanding the bowed left wrist idea. I’m right handed get better results when I’m more focused on my right hand. I recently found some other videos that focus on backwards bending of the right wrist. I believe it’s basically the same idea but focused on the right wrist. Might help others like me. Thoughts?
@AlexElliottGolfАй бұрын
Completely get it, i do like that concept
@paulo1677Ай бұрын
I am the same. I have found that if I concentrate on getting to the ball with a cupped right wrist I get great contact, more distance etc. etc. ultimately it’s the same result, but I find this much easier that trying to concentrate on a bowed left wrist.
@davidreid2301Ай бұрын
A driver doesn't have a flat face. The very reason for a wood having a bulge and roll on its face is for gearing effect, which helps with off centre hits. That's why Bryson DeChambeau's 3D printed irons have a curved face as well.

Hitting 300 yds plus but always a big fade (sometimes slice). Let's see if this video can help us out or not. Fingers crossed 😊
@mkr7465Ай бұрын
300+ fade sounds perfectly fine and functional... I guarantee that if you change that fantastic fade, you will struggle with speed, face control and strike. Also you will be used to seeing that fade and trusting your new shot shape on course is going to be a challenge. Although you can create power swinging more around and you won´t slice it, the dynamics of that swing and release will be so different that it will cost you in fine control. Also your brain is used to seeing those big fades and will try to create those on course. You will need maybe 1-3 years of training and playing to fully adjust. I would seek a coach that would help you manage YOUR swing, not change it. (That is, if I were you... I myself have never taken a lesson.)
@floydianepic3259Ай бұрын
Alex. Love the content, but slice can also be caused by shaft lean. Backwards lean will give you fade/ slice. To far forward, will draw/ hook. Maybe do a video o that.😊
@rontaylor2391Ай бұрын
I know I cup my wrist - I just can’t seem to stop it. If i try to change the wrist during the downswing coming to contact then I am quite likely to pull the shot 45 degrees left! So, big question. If I know I can’t change my wrist through the swing why can’t I (and everyone else except elite players) pre-set the wrist either at set up or at the top of the back swing?
@AlexElliottGolfАй бұрын
Set up!
@rontaylor239129 күн бұрын
@@AlexElliottGolfso that would be weakening the grip? Or keep the grip the same and close the club face at set up?

Dude's hype way out paces his brain and mouth. T̶o̶t̶a̶l̶ s̶p̶a̶z̶z̶ Breathless Hypebeast, slow down and think about what you're saying so it makes some damn sense. Listing the benefits such as "you'll hit straighter, it'll reduce your side spin, and significantly reduce that slice" is quite literally saying the same thing three times over.
