The thing I love most about One's art is that it's the level of bad that it ends up being inspirational. You can look at some of the best manga artists in the world and think "I can never be like that" there is that feeling of if it's not perfect it's not worth it. I think it is also worth mentioning how ONE has actually improved after years of practice. In the first chapters and arcs, he already had the vision in terms of storyboard, but the drawings were really sketchy. In the latest chapters, while the technique itself is still amateurish, the quality of the illustrations themselves is much better: faces are expressive, shading with cross hatching well used and the anatomy of the characters is no longer that off as it used to be.

As an Artists I envy One's style. I'd rather have these interesting drawings with the humor, than just drawing pretty. This is why many Artist's intentionally draw "bad" and "ugly" Also he has great knowledge about compositing. He knows what he is doing.

this would have had more impact if it were focused on the evolution of the original artists art and not just the early chapters of it vs the redraws for the manga because i think that its ignoring muratas influence own one's own art in his orignial webcomic and how it changes over time and not just comparing one's early work to murata who's style was already perfected long before he started work on one punch man

And also mentioning how far One's art has evolved once he got to Mob Psycho.

I love ONE PUNCH MAN especially the manga. I wish Studio Bones would remake season 2 and all seasons onwards.

I think the most amazing thing is that One proved that gorgeous art isn't necessary to be successful, you just need to have good writing and you can go far.

Same thing happened with AoT too. They only let AoT be published cause the story was good, but everybody kept rejecting Iseyama cause of his poor artwork. They placed so much importance on the story and forced Iseyama to know his story down to the letter to make up for it.

I did find it hilarious when the Anime sometimes chose to draw the characters in the webcomic's style. Like the scene at 1:20 where Tatsumaki wants Saitama to get lost.

OPM really makes me hope that some day more outsider-manga will be able to get this level of popularity and acclaim. I'm not even a huge fan of the series, but the look and feel of ONE's artwork is just so oddly charming and refreshing as hell amidst a sea of A1-pictures-style Slice of Life shows and followups to one-cour series I haven't watched

This was pretty neat. I like seeing how he evolved as an artist, and the story of how another artist adapted his manga. Have you ever done one of these on Masamune Shirow? His art has really evolved from his early days of Black Magic, up to his more recent stuff on more... _adult_ works.

that he decided to put aside his lack of experience and instead focus his energy on making this manga and story is really inspirational and is not credited enough. as an artist this motivates me more than anything, to see that his amazing effort payed him off so much is really something special.

The difference of One Punch Man Manga and Webcomic is not just a different art style, the plot behind these two follows a different way, and Murata and One are dialoguing between these two paths to give information of the OPM universe in a such creatively way that amazed me. This is unique, even the publishing data of the Manga and Webcomic are close, and the "dialogue" generaly occurs in these new chapters... Just amazing.

This reminds me of Ryukishi07's visual novels. Whenever he makes a new vn he draws all the sprites himself and they are really shotty but kind of charming. Like OPM, the amateur drawings aren't good but the writing is amazing, and later they both got full reduxes with much better art.
@kingcrimson41333 жыл бұрын
I personally think Ryukishi's art has a lot more soul in it than the updated art. When I first read through Higurashi, it was on the Steam release which had the choice between the original and updated art. I played with the updated art because at first glance it was an obvious decision, but I quickly found that the updated art was simply soulless. It was shiny and glossy and clean and the characters all look like they're staring into space without a thought in their head. Meanwhile, Ryukishi's character art is thrumming with personality, and his skill at conveying precise emotion through facial expression is unmatched. I switched to his artwork and fell in love with it, and I haven't looked back. Though I will say that the PS3 sprites for Umineko do a pretty good job of translating Ryukishi's style in a more skilled way. His art for Ciconia, meanwhile, looks better than ever, and I'm excited to see how it will evolve going forward.
@whawhawhawhaaaa3 жыл бұрын
@@kingcrimson4133 personally I absolutely love the ps3 sprites for Umineko. They are, in my opinion, the best possible sprites for Umineko. They also have the improved backgrounds and superb voice acting befitting of what is, in my opinion, the best piece of fiction of all time. Higurashi on the other hand has a pretty subpar track record with the updated sprites. The sprites aren't bad, but they are a tad uninspired.

Honestly, i dont think ryūkishi is an amature He said it himself that he doesn't have skill in evrything but.. Hi is perfect when it comes to.drawing facial expressions...i dont think any other visual novels having the same amazing expressions as his ... And i think he is struggling with his devine passion and determination and his art...he will probably improve more...he is a good artist with that being keo at mind...
