@@Dylan-ge7gz biggest problem i have with Michael's early kings moves, his shoulder was below the table in a losing position. if it was even just even with the table, i would have had no issues with it... but he spend 3/4th of his matches in the losing position, and he was allowed to drop below the table without a foul. BUT, recently in WAL, this whole year he has redeemed himself IMO, because all of his Kings moves have been parrallel or above the table, and he's focused on a more heavily pronated hand. that is real arm wrestling pronation and cup

This video is fun to watch but in no way is useful to compare Larratt to Voevoda. Todd was a much stronger (and used a FAR different technique, which as far as I'm concerned is cheating) against Larratt in 2011 than against Voevoda 4 years earlier. And Larratt has improved since 2011, while Voevoda has been winning gold medals at the Olympics. It'll be a great match if it does happen, but this video does nothing.
@WanderleiSilva299 жыл бұрын
Vyselink agreed.... this video was obviously made by a Voevoda fan.... Todd improved greatly since Voevoda and practically lays down on the ground now when he pulls.... not sure how its legal at all, but he seems to be able to do it effectively. Alexey didn't pull this version...... and Larratt and Voevoda are two different pullers and have peaked at different times.... Voevoda will never be back to 04' form again.... Hes been out of the game too long and is too old now. Although Larratt is older than him, hes been consistently in the game and training for arm wrestling. His only downfall was his surgery... that messed him up..... and the bobsled shit messed up Voevoda.... if Alexey ever does REALLY intend on coming out of retirement and getting back to being any kind of contender, he needs to start training for arm wrestling only and quit that vegan diet shit.... He needs to go back to roots. Steroids, steak, dungeon training.....
@Vyselink9 жыл бұрын
WanderleiSilva29 Minus the roids and I agree with pretty much everything you said. I don't think roids are necessary for arm wrestling. You look at someone like Brzenk, he's been doing it for 30 years. Don't think roids had anything to do with it.
@WanderleiSilva299 жыл бұрын
Vyselink well Brzenk is an elite tactician.... Voevoda has never relied on strategy... its all power with him. I believe Brzenk has always been somewhat "clean"... im sure he takes muscle supplements and protein shakes, etc.. possibly even some legal testosterone boosters.... but I don't think anything illegal in the US....That's why you don't see Brzenk curling 200 lb dumbells with one arm.... The human body isn't capable of doing the kinds of physical feats that Voevoda is capable of without steroids.... He's at Strongman level and he doesn't even train for that. That's not because he was born with 3 times more strength than the average human... its because he's had a little help.... Im not saying that's bad or not. I don't even think they test for them in Russia, so the rules of legality are different depending on the country.... . Personally, I have no problem with steroids..... Just because someone takes them, does not mean they will reach his level or close to it..... its all genetics.... but steroids mixed with genetics will give you the superforce that you saw out of Voevoda in 2004.... but pressing 600 lbs for reps and curling men hanging on to a dumbbell is not natural in any way.
@franktony819 жыл бұрын
Vyselink I agree with ALMOST everything. Larratt has actually declined in the past 3 years or so. His best form was 11-12. After the surgery,his right arm looks dead and even his left arm looks beatable. Said that, I don't think Voevoda gets back to his 04 level with that vegan diet. He is still young for arm-wrestling, but he will lack the power he once had. For the record, Voevoda has great technique as well. People seem to believe that he was all power because he could pin down guys easily, but that's no true at all. Among the heavy Russias/Ukranians, I believe he had the best technique by far.

We really won't know how Voevoda will handle the new crop of talent until he's fully trained and back on circuit. Even then, it'll still take a few speed bumps for him to fine tune his game and get back to competing at the highest level. People need to remember that he hasn't arm-wrestled competitively since 2007 (a bunch of left-handed matches he lost to Bagent), and he's in bobsled shape, not pulling shape. This match between Larratt and Todd was epic, by the way.

Voevoda was a russian athelete, who used to do monstrous lifting and etc. On other hand, Devon made his power through sparring with other arm wrestlers to understand the logic behind arm wrestling, he also lifted but not as monstrous /insanely as alexey did.
