ON CLOUBOOM ZONE REVIEW | I WISH THE PRICE WAS DIFFERENT

Today's video is the review of the On Cloudboom Zone, a €220 uptempo shoe from On that will compete against the likes of the Rebel v4, the Saucony Endorphin Speed, the Adizero SL2. And with this comparison, you see me coming: the price point of the On shoe is so far apart from the other shoes in this category. Is it justified?

The holes are getting lesser and smaller. Proof that those holes are gimmicky in previous iteration and foams are getting better

I really like ON shoes like the Cloudeclipse, Cloudmonster etc. The midsole works, fit and durability work.

This will be a hard sell when the Evo SL comes out (premium mid made more affordable) . ON has its place in the scheme of things, but that price is too much of a stretch.

Unfortunately the upper still look very bad, like an old bag, unacceptable for me for shoes of this price. They should simply copy the one from Brooks, the market reference at the moment.

Where i live the speed 4 is 215 euro, and 200 on sale in ugly colors, sooo, not such a difference.

Hmm, so another not so great upper, bad outsole and, for a shoe that competes with lightweight Daily Trainers like the Rebel v4, absurd price. Not very intriguing... I fear this will get completely buried in the Evo SL hype.

You have to understand that they are a Swiss fashion oriented premium brand, when I purchase a pair of On is because I want something more exclusive and I am ok paying a premium. At the same time I am NOT ok with crappy upper, inconsistence between shoes size and lack of regular/wide options (mandatory at this premium price levels).

The framing "price" and "different" is something ON has not in its vocabulary. While they indeed managed to insrease their durability a lot they still remain overpriced as hell for what they offer - sadly (work with them)

Hope ON will go downhill very soon. All they do is marketing (pay a lot for influencers and commercials too) but their shoes are ridiculous. NB Rebel V4 is £140 here in the UK and you can get your hands on a pair around £110 with discount codes. Adidas SL2 is also a steal for the price it has and Saucony Endorphin Speed is one of the best in the category at a much reasonable price point. ON is greedy but no innovation. Its foams are firm as a brick. In general super overpriced for what it is.

@@jgarcenila1982 I’m okay paying for premium as well if it’s worth it. Asics, Adidas, Saucony, Puma, New Balance are the real deal. On is a “wannabe premium” in running but in fact is just a lifestyle brand.
