Awwww cute birth year watch story 🥹 I was given my grandfather's Seiko Tank from my grandmother before he passed away. There's something special about a watch being passed down through the generations.

"Our family, from the generation of our grandparents, then to our parents, and now our children, has always worn Cartier watches. It's a must-have, especially the Santos and Tank models, alongside Patek Philippe and Rolex. We were quite surprised by the new modern classic design changes, and it takes some time to adjust. But Cartier always excels in design because we’re not just buying a watch, but also a piece of jewelry. Absolutely love this video."

Oh man, that is KILLER......... those numerals are gorgeous. Anyone who knows watches will spot it and be like "what is THAT????". Never know that Cartier still uses mineral glass though? Kind of ironic that arguably the most famous jewelry house in the world can't put SAPPHIRE glass on their watch! Listening to female watch nerds geek out about Cartier is always great. Love the brand and what it represents, especially to women. My wife drooled over various Tanks for many years for their Art Deco proportions but then discovered JLC and the Reverso. Then she learned of the equestrian history and being a horse girl herself it became an obsession. As she's a very good girl her loving Hubby bought her a Reverso Duetto 266.8.44 in steel on a beads of rice bracelet for our 25th anniversary. She calls it her "jay-jay" just to knowingly annoy me but damn it looks good on her wrist.

BEAUTIFUL and congratulations to your husband. Very well executed. That’s not a bad price estimate for a limited number of watches. As much as I’m use to seeing Cartier with Roman numerals, these turn of the century Arabic numerals work just as good if not better than the Roman

My wife just saw this video and no she is designing her watch. Oh, Britt look what you have done. All kidding aside excellent video. A beautifully executed piece. Which made me think, "If you were to design your ultimate watch, what would it look like?"
@PocketWatchTime3 ай бұрын
I have lots of opinions… 1. I don’t usually like the tank… I think it’s a bit feminine; however, the platinum, the dial, and the Arabic numerals really make this watch “more” masculine. I like it. 2. Stressing the importance again… That dial and Arabic numeral combo is excellent. 3. I love the idea of unique or semi unique watches… I think the NSO version of Cartier is super cool. Congratulations on an actual interesting watch. 4. Now an odd comment… The whole video I couldn’t get over the fact that you called it “not your watch“. I feel like other motives are involved here… It felt like political fakery - like the President of the United States wearing a Timex acting like he can’t afford a better watch. It’s your watch… Just call it your watch (or “our” watch).

I really do appreciate seeing others who clearly love what they are talking about - passionate people make life worth living. I'm not enough of a watch connoisseur to have tuned my snobbery to proper levels (but give it time, I suppose...). Thus, after catching the watch appreciation bug, I have been assessing watches on their appearance, and yes, of course, what I am willing to spend (not rich, nor poor). The brand, not so important. After all, I am buying something for my enjoyment, not to wave around at people to indicate that I possibly have more money than sense, or to keep as an "investment".

If you know you know. Cartier have been front and center in wristwatch design since inception. I think because they are more associated with women's watches, at least nowadays, and use quartz some men look down on them. But women and men can think very differently about watches sometimes and I for one think it's great that there's a brand out there that many women go goo-goo over. Men too if they value classic design and proportions. There is just SOMETHING about Cartier lines.

It is a lovely watch. As for the materials, albeit the same appearance as SS, the small grin and the softened look in the eyes of the user will tell us, it's about the wearing experience. The price is too rich for my blood, but the knowing how rare it is, it comes with the territory. As for the subject of a gift for a son, I hope he can appreciate the watch, and how it was planned so many years ahead of him to receive such a gift. Either way, best of luck.

That is a very elegant and tasteful watch. I wouldn't want to own it, in fact I do prefer your version in steel with the roman numerals and minute track, because it disguises how short the hands are, and the numerals fill the empty space. It is also much easier to set and read the time although I accept on traditional dress watches this is less of an issue as they rarely have t second hand.

Took my Rolex out and fell in love gradually even though I wear it everyday and the night before even. Guess what watch I chose to wear? The Rolex. It’s my “tackle life and make decisions” watch. Fills a very niche need that I have which my omega dress piece can’t. The omega helps me tackle on perplexing situations but not make decisions. 🤷♂️

BP, T4YC: I popped into a Cartier boutique and have commissioned a bioceramic version of the tank model, with seven versions each in a very vibrant coloured plastic case, ooooooppppsss, bioceramic case. They promised it will be ready in 2025, and will definitely be 1 of 1 for each colour, at a cost of $15K each. While I was waiting, I looked into the file, and there was a plan enclosed saying that this model would become "limited" and instructions on where the queues would be routed around the specially chosen sites. The final bit of paper in the file, talked about how it will be available on line for $299.

This is a superb Tank version! - You will have to have quite the spend history to be considered for an NSO generally. Once that hurdle is passed, the question is: which model will you get? The platinum weight is really something. The Tank Must is a featherweight compared to this, but I'm still glad they make it. That way I can experience the Tank Louis design at a fraction of the cost (Tank Louis méchanique off the shelf: £12k).

@@cjblazer385 There are tiers of price vs value…. When you get a specialized movement or a handcrafted and hand finished piece, the price is far more justified. When you get a basic movement, in a basic case, that is priced far more than the actual metal is possibly worth, it doesn’t make nearly as much sense….
