ASMR with some of my favourite books ✨📚 (ft. ACOTAR, tapping, whispering blurbs, fanfic/AO3)

This came about cuz someone spotted my ACOTAR books on the bookshelf behind me and asked me to do ASMR with them! I did a short with them a few weeks ago and a few people asked for a long form version, so here it is! 📚
Reading is one of my favourite things to do in the entire world 💜 I could talk about books and fics endlessly.
I used to feel embarrassed (?) that I struggle to read and don't enjoy more "serious" books or more "legit" novels but I am so, so past that now. I'm all about doing what brings me joy, and reading fantasy books and fanfics absolutely does that! So I just own that now 😊

♡♡ A BIT ABOUT ME AND THIS CHANNEL ♡♡
I have watched ASMR for years and love it and the community so much. It's always been a safe space for me to go, particularly when my mental health hasn't been in a great place.
I love makeup and using makeup to express myself and be creative, so it felt only natural to create a channel that combines two things I love - makeup and ASMR. I'm also queer and makeup can be a beautiful way I explore and express my queer identity ✨🌈
I want this channel and community around it to be a safe, relaxing and joyful space for folks to come to and am deeply grateful to anyone who supports and helps contributes to this 💜

I love AO3 and the fanfic. I found it after i fell into a reading slump after finishing acotar. Started with the acotar fanfic but then i fell into the teen wolf fics. I def agree with you that some fics are better than published books. I read the most amazing stories on ao3. Couldn't get into the throne of glass series. I finished the first book but it took me forever. Have you read the cresent city series by sarah? Love that one as well❤ edit: i think i see CC on the shelf behind you?

I've read CC too!! The first tog book is such a different vibe to the rest - if you can push through to get to the second I promise it gets sooo much better! It was SJMs first book and you can tell in the sense it feels like younger compared to the rest? But tog is sooo good I promise the series is amazing 😭

That edition of "100 Years of Solitude" has such a beautiful cover! Long has that been on my 'to read' list as many native Spanish speaking friends recommend it as being mandatory and now I want it but in particular that pressing! Thanks for sharing P.S. you pronounced the name perfectly

If you're looking for Dramione (Draco/ Hermione) generally the fandom agrees that the Disappearances of Draco Malfoy is the most canon like, it's a retelling from the deathly hallows archiveofourown.org/works/23296162/chapters/55794568 There's also manacled which is what I started with that is very dark but omg so good. I absolutely loooove The Winner's Trilogy!! I was so surprised to see it in this video, haven't found a lot of people who read it. I think my favorite one is The Winner's Crime (the second one). I've read it way too many times, just like you did with the third one (and fun fact, I read it before the first one, since it wasn't in the library 😂)

the winners crime was soooo good !! 😭😭 I think it just burned me cuz it ended on such a good cliffhanger and since I couldn't immediately read the next one I had an immense amount of frustration (that can only come from an amazing story!) directed at it 😂 I really need to read the entire series again! I also love you just read the second one!! Tbh the first book wasn't my fav (from memory) so the second is a great place to start!

I love this video. I go to it over and over again for how relaxing it is. Plus I love all the books that you've mentioned. Could you please share some of your most favourite fanfictions? I'd be particularly interested in the Dramione inspired ones. I'm currently reading Manacled and I just can't wait to see how it's going to all turn around, because it really just seems like there's no redeeming for Draco at the moment, but I trust in the author that she will be able to somehow pull that off. Her writing is just excellent. I would also recommend "Apple Pies and Other Amends" by ToEatAPeach, which I've just finished a couple days ago. It's really lovely and sweet. And also the "Silencio" by AkashaTheKitty, which was actually my first fanfic experience. The relationship in this one is very problematic, but after Manacled I think you won't be suprised at all. But the spicey scenes are just done so well, you can't help but root for them to find a way to each other... Thank you for this video, and please consider making one for the fanfic. ❤❤❤

2:20 I’m the opposite. I haven’t been able to get into fiction books in years. All I seem to be able to read is nonfiction (specifically crime nonfiction, but I read a really good book about cannibalism in the animal kingdom and it was really really good). My younger sibling is obsessed with Throne of Glass, though!!

This is why I love fanfic cuz when I hit the slump I switch to reading one shots (like short stories) which is a good palette cleanser before reading longer fics again! Sometimes you just need to switch it up and read a new book and come back to it, it sucks when you can't get in the groove of it!

Legend was one of my faves back when it came out! Im a little scared to re-read and not love it as much since Im now 29 😂I do still like YA and I wanna read the fourth one!
