This is by far the very best version of the Hulk. I grew up with this program as a child and I still have fond memories. I love Bill Bixby's rendition as Dr. David Banner, and Lou Ferrigno as the best Hulk ever. This show was grounded in reality, intelligently written, great characters and actors, and unforgettable music. Even the Hulk grew as a character. I love this show!

I liked the 2003 and 2008 Hulk films well enough, but neither of them really stood out to me. Something I liked about the 2003 film was the way the transformations were handled - most of them were triggered by someone just plain being a jerk to Bruce, which was a lot like the old show. That said, Lou Ferrigno will always be THE Hulk to me, and this show's Hulk remains my favorite version of the character.

there wasnt and will NEVER be another show like this one...it had some of the greatest and most well written episodes ever...dealing with drug abuse, alcohol abuse and even child abuse among other...I think Lou Ferrigno looked the best in season 1. he was so ripped and shreaded. season after season he was less and less ripped..just more bulkier...but in the first pilot and death in the family his make up was the most scariest...they toned it down after because they say it scared kids! lol

It's also the wig. The first two pilots and season !....the Hulk's wig made the Hulk scary. Season's 2 & 3...the wigs were okay. It didn't take away from the awesomeness of the Hulk....but by Season's 4 & 5....the Hulk's wig made him look campy.

yeah that too... but primarily I think its the make up and forehead...the make up looked like it was thinner and more pine green in season 1...also Ferrigno was so ripped and his body fat was no existent lol...if Ferrigno was the size he was in the Master Olympia in the 92-93 he would have scarred the piss out of kids lol...he was like 50 lbs heavier with way more muscle mass!! best show ever!!

@SuperKRGR They keep trying though, I give them credit on that. Also, they are currently making a new hulk series. The creature is suppose too be a combination of CGI and puppetry. It will never replace the original. I like Ferrigno';s comment when he talked about the CGI hulks in the movies. "The real hulk can sign autographs." lol

Three inch steel here apparently! It's interesting to note at 5.15 the Doctor reference to the Hulk's 'extraordinary metabolism', this seems to suggest that he may well be capable of getting stronger as he gets angrier, something that comes into view later in the series in 'Prometheus'.... This first episode is a masterpiece in how to adapt the Superhero genre for television, perfect. It is very noticable here in the first episode how they use the dark and night to frame the Hulk's appearances, it adds a lot to making him more intimidating and mysterious, and it is to its great credit that this debut production treats its subject with great seriousness and respects what it is producing.
