I had a chance to meet Ben and we were able to talk. I thanked him for songs that helped me through depression and something just clicked. We talked for over 20 minutes about depression and fighting ourselves. He is a great guy after talking with him he said, “People like you and I don’t suffer depression. We battle it. We won’t win every battle but we will win the war.” Their songs are dark, and that makes me delve deeper into myself and I realize no matter how dark the song, there is always a shred of hope.

Breaking Benjamin is, in the most weird comparison ever, the vanilla ice cream of metal/hard rock. Now, before you come at me with pitch forks and torches, hear me out. They're comforting. You can go a while without hearing them but as soon as his voice hits... you're home. You know what to expect, and it's just as good as you remember. Sure, there are other flavors that are nice, but vanilla does what it does to a perfection. It's so welcoming.

This hits hard on my end, my dad is an alcoholic and he's the type to use words to cut people down when drunk. I have dealt with a lot of depression through my life because of it. I have had... Those thoughts... But I pushed through. No matter what you are going, for whoever is reading this, you can make it. I believe you can. If I am able to push through the negative thoughts and feeling like I'm literally a waste of space, I know you can too. I am lucky to have friends that are there for me, despite being online. Don't throw everything away, pain is only temporary, we just don't know how long it will last. Look to your friends, talk to them, let them know where you're at. Sometimes having that one person that knows can be enough for a new path to open, a path with less pain.

Like this one can mean for mental health, lonelyness, heartbreak, etc. Also it's great to do on voxtar in clone hero as well, can really belt it out there, get that emotion out. As for the next breaking benjamin song, maybe Blow me away, but mainly because it's from halo 2 and the song that first got me into the band in the first place.

@@KingChayle87 I got to see them right before the pandemic and I was kind of sad with the quality of the show but it could have been the venue (small bar/restaurant). But overall they're amazing

@@gitsiemonster I saw them around the time Superfiction released when they toured with Nonpoint (another band Alex needs to check out). The acoustics in the place were kinda bad but I still enjoyed the show

It seems pretty generic with the rhythm and such, but you can tell this is a very personal song. Even though it's not up there in intensity or even creativity, it is in emotions (where it counts).

What's creative about Breaking Benjamin is that most of their songs are in Drop Bb, lower than technical death metal and grindcore bands for example, yet extremely accessible for radio, films, and video games. Ben is one of the most known baritone guitarists in modern rock.

I'm so glad you did this song. This band, and Ben's words saved my life.

Another song that's along this line is "Fear" by Any Given Day.

The album dear agony got me through one of the hardest times in my life. It came out while my life was crumbling to pieces. I listened to it every single day. It still resonates very heavily with me to this very day.

I saw Lacey Sturm on teaser for the video but it's the original version. Yes, a great song, but I think the latest with Stacey is much better and not sure if we can beg for another reaction video for the latest version? Also, why is Lacey on the teaser?
@chrismeadows42163 жыл бұрын
The latest with Lacey is less symbolically impactful, so it's a good thing he heard the original first to appreciate that one more. The thumbnail has gotta be a slip-up. Maybe he Googled Dear Agony pictures and the music video was the first thing to come up. Seems likely.

I love them so much. Just one of those bands you can listen to and expect everything you're getting, but it's good.

Any time I see a reaction to Dear Agony, I have to click it. Easily one of the greatest songs ever made.

This album is a masterpiece. Your a good guy for offering yourself as an outlet for relief to help others. You did I Will Not Bow, you need to do Without You. Next to Dear Agony tht one hits me the most.
