The mixing crew deserves a lot of credit. This is effectively a different take on a live studio performance. Each instrument is input directly into a master feed and the production team will adjust as they see fit depending on the song. They do a pre-mix during dress rehearsals and learn the format of the song, balance all the instruments and mics.
