It looked great at first as my texlaxed hair was down to my waist but I got my hair cut every couple months and it got cut faster than it grew so now my hair is shoulder length and the ends of my hair are more frizzy than other parts so I guess it needs cutting again which sucks cos I was trying to grow my hair again lol

Hiya I would like to know what products you use for your texlaxing hair.
@antoinettedockerytaylor87404 жыл бұрын
My reservations are having inconsistent textures, Will that damage your hair, or pose a problem? I've been texlaxed since September of last year, my biggest challenge is having the hairdressers wash my relaxer out after 15 minutes, they keep insisting that it needs to go longer and so my relaxer stays in for a little over 15 minutes each time. Also, since i started texlaxing , my roots get a lot thicker more quickly so its harder to manage.. braids help to grow my hair but tears away my hairline, what other protective styles can i use?
@TheSub2rainen4 жыл бұрын
You have to explain texlaxing to the stylist and/or find one who is on board. I only have one I trust with chemicals, and she’s on the other side of the country, so I do my own. The last person I tried a couple times, but when she relaxed, she decided to reprocess and overprocess. I lost my curls and half my hair. One thing I read people on Long Hair Care Forum say they do is use a strong protein a day or two before a relaxer, either Aphoghee 2 step or K-Pak. I haven’t tried that, since I do my own. Your roots are going to seem thicker, since the curls are full strength! My hair does better when I relax every 6-8 weeks, in spite of common advice being to stretch for 3, 4, 6, or even 12 months. My hair is very thick and grows fast, so it’s a nightmare if I go longer. You get to know what your hair likes over time.

@erniecelindsey84185 жыл бұрын
I did, I used a texturizer which by the way can cause a calcium build up on the hair. My hair always felt dry even during wash day. I had some breakage but nothing major. I now use a relaxer and under process. I don't smooth or comb it. I just add conditioner and oil to my hair prior. I keep the whole process 12 minutes. I haven't had any issues since I switched. I texlax twice a year.

What sort of conditioner do you use, leave - in or wash out conditioner, to mix in texturiser or on hair
@summerisherechannel82425 жыл бұрын
Why do you use relaxer vs texturizer in your hair? Can I use a texturizer after I've used a relaxer to texturize my hair?
@AlexisKimberlyy5 жыл бұрын
So, to your first question, I have no real preference for relaxers over texturizers. I grew up on the Design Essentials line and have used their relaxer for years, so that's just been my go-to. It's better to stick to the same relaxer/texturizer every service so that you know exactly what to expect each time you go for a touch-up. As to your second question, yes you can use a texturizer to your new growth after the relaxer, so long as the same active ingredient (i.e., sodium hydroxide) is present in both products (check the label to be sure you're not mixing chemicals). But all in all, I wouldn't suggest switching back and forth between relaxers and texturizers or different brands because you may wind up with inconsistent textures or your hair may just not agree with certain products. Strand testing by a professional is always the way to go! Thanks for the great question!
